As much as I love the Hawaiian islands, I have to say that this is just bunk.
Honolulu is not that desireable of a city. In fact, I'd rather live just about anywhere else in Hawaii than Honolulu. And I like cities.
It must be the clean unspoiled beaches along with the healthy water... ;-)
the traffic is terrible just about everywhere in Hawaii now , on every island. Hawaii needs to institute a 10 year moratorium on ALL new car and prohibit importing any privately as well . This is about the only way the insane automotive
pressure will ever abate . Certainly existing infastructure
cannot handle it now , much less ever more and more cars and trucks in the future.

I was on Wi Ki Ki in September and I can tell you my quality of life was pretty damn good. I mean the Hilton Resort is awesome. I was able to go to a luau, saw the Arizona, pineapple valley, etc. However, never did actually go into Honolulu. I think areas like where I was is why they ranked so high and ignored the city.
