Kerry 'thinking hard' about 2008 run for president
Reuters ^ | April 20, 2006

Posted on 04/20/2006 3:59:50 PM PDT by West Coast Conservative

Former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said on Thursday he was seriously thinking about another White House bid in 2008 and will decide before the year is out.

"I will make that decision toward the end of the year, but I'm thinking about it hard," Kerry said in response to a question at the Latin Economic Forum at the United Nations.

"If you can get help me find 60,000 votes in Ohio ...," he joked, referring to the close race in that state on which his 2004 loss to President Bush hinged.

Kerry, a U.S. senator from Massachusetts, has criticized Bush on a range of issues, particularly the war in Iraq.

On Thursday, he focused on Latin America, saying Bush lost interest in the region after the September 11 attacks.

"Relations between the United States and Latin America today are at their lowest point since the end of the Cold War," Kerry said.

Other Democrats seen as potentially seeking the nomination include U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner and Kerry's former running mate, John Edwards.

There's probably 60,000 people buried SOMEWHERE in Ohio.

As for me, I would vote for a dead skunk before I would vote for John F. Kerry,

That stinks.

You know, the Democratic leaders are a "target rich environment" when it comes to jokes and sarcasm, yet, so many people don't see them for the buffons they are. I just don't get it.

That's because Republicans cannot stay united. We need to understand that if we are not careful, we'll help elect Kerry or Hillary in '08

Actually, Al did okay with his concession speech.

Yeah, but that was only because he had over 2 months to work on it.

"""If you can get help me find 60,000 votes in Ohio"" this is an urban legend that refuses to die..Kerry lost by 120,000 votes, not 60,000

My liberal mother-in-law explained to me if just 60,000 voters had voted for Kerry instead of Bush, Kerry would have won....I tried to explain the reality that Kerry lost by 120,000 votes, but I soon realized I was wasting my time...

It seems like he is positioning himself for a run. That is why he was out front on the DP World deal. I am observing how things are rather than how we want them to be. I agree with you that he is a fraud, but Biden and Hilary have him beat by a mile in that department.

Two months? Oh come on, surely someone with that many brains and that much personality could just "wing it."

This is totally unrelated to Kerry - or maybe not - but everytime I see your screen name, I think of the Crazy Ivans in "The Hunt for Red October".

Which meaning is your name - angry or crazy? Angry would be more American I guess.

Maybe Schumer can campaign from prison after he gets busted for the Michael Steele/credit card thing.
