Treating a massive stroke is tricky business, it's not surprising that the doctors screwed-up the dosage.

Sharon has achieved carrot-hood.

I hope this isn't supposed to be a joke.

Is keeping Sharon alive at state expense at this juncture a wise use of taxpayer dollars?

Had he been anyone else he would have been dead and buried months ago. He's been kept alive for political purposes. With the election over, he can now go home to die in peace.

Only for the people that knew him...Worked out pretty good for Sharon...Lived a long life, died quickly with no pain, no suffering...We should all be so lucky...

Oddly enough, in Israel we don't pay our taxes in dollars.

If you're suggesting this was done to cause him further harm you're too much a conspiracy mind to be reached. The totality of efforts in treating Sharon well beyond those granted the average patient.

According to the US Congress, they are accepted there however.

If I had to guess, I'd say it was a tongue-in-cheek way of saying it was *our* taxpayer dollars.

We went to Israel for twelve days last month, and I never converted a single dollar to shekels.

Dollars and credit cards are taken everywhere.

That's strange - when Olmert took over as acting PM I thought they said he was "temporarily disabled." Could that have been to avoid putting Netanyahu back in the PM's office? Just maybe?

No human being is ever a vegetable.

We are made in the image of God and His glory is
reflected through us, despite our disabilities.

No human being is ever a vegetable.

The reference is to Sharon's physical body, not his soul. It is possible for our mortal coils to be completely non-responsive to stimuli.

Short answer: yes.
When Sharon had his stroke and was hospitalized the Palestinians proclaimed that they would have a special celebratory missile shoot-off at Israeli targets when his death was announced.
No death, no shoot-off.
Wait six months, a year maybe the Palestinians lose interest and forget and Sharon can die quietly and in peace.
But for now the old general serves and protects his people even from his sick bed.

After Olmert became Ariel's shadow everything changed and not for the better. It's such a shame after Ariel Sharon's many years of loyal service for Israel and her people.

TV Report: Doctors Admit Sharon Errors

('JERUSALEM - Doctors have admitted making a mistake when they treated then-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with large doses of blood thinners after a mild stroke, according to a TV report broadcast Thursday. The hospital strongly denied the report.')

As I understand it, he was declared "permanently disabled" on April 11th (100 days after being declared "temporarily disabled"). On that date, he was no longer PM.

I think these folks would support a new cable/dish channel: Terri-24/7. Sort of a mix of court TV and the traditional religious stations along with a "Burn in Hell, Micheal" reality show.
