Can you join Minutemen this Sunday at border - Campo, CA?

Posted on 04/22/2006 5:24:43 AM PDT by Ladycalif

Minutewomen and Minutemen would like to invite you to join us this Sunday, April 23 at Campo, Ca - site of the April border watch. Please read the MMSOP* at the end of this email.

DONATIONS for our MINUTEMEN! There is a small, core group of dedicated, full-time Minutemen at Campo - we would ask you to bring items to donate to these patriots - AA batteries or canned goods (that can be eaten straight from the container on the line). We will have container and hope to fill it.

RALLY We will stage a flag-waving rally/march RIGHT ALONG THE BORDER FENCE - bring your biggest American flag or a sign. Minuemen - Stay and do a border watch after the rally!

TIME About 10am

DATE Sunday, April 23

LOCATION We will meet at the VFW parking lot, then drive to the Campo border fence (just a few minutes drive) VFW 301 Sheridan Rd Campo, CA

Campo is about a 50 minute drive east of San Diego

Campo, CA (San Diego County - zipcode 91906)

Campo is located about 50 miles or so east of San Diego on Hwy 94. If you drive to Campo from San Diego on Hwy 94, you'll come very close to the border and can see into Mexcio from points along the Hwy. Hwy 94 west of Campo is a twisty road with many hills and such, but straightens out a bit east (and north) of Campo. The next town past Campo (heading east) is Jacumba. <>

EVENTS: There are weekly train rides at the San Diego Railroad Museum. There will be more events listed here soon, so check back often.

CLIMATE: Campo is in the mountains, so don't expect the climate to be as mild as San Diego coastal areas. Dress warm if you'll be here during the evenings in winter. Be prepared for hot weather

in the summer. At least Campo has seasons!

WHAT YOU NEED FOR CAMPO

We will be outdoors - in rugged, hilly terrain.

DRESS WARMLY - wear clothes you can peel off as the day warms up into the 60s

Sturdy shoes/hiking boots

Bring lawn chair, binoculars, hand-held radio (optional), blankets - creature comforts

Bring water and snacks - there is one diner and an expensive convenience store in Campo

The nearest "big town" is Alpine - about a 20 minute drive from Campo

HOPE YOU CAN JOIN US!

If we can't donate time or drop off supplies, do you have an address for monetary support?

Oh. OK - I didn't mean to post the wrong donation info - not sure if FR allows anyone's donation info, but that person was asking. Honestly, I don't have a problem with Gilchrist : )

I wish you all the best and please stay safe! I worry much about possible MS13 involvement. In my own effort to find out more information, I came across this and simply could not even believe the 'name' of the site, but at least these groups are beginning to make their true intentions known. I wonder if we are headed for the day when they drop the flag covers, declare outright war and draw guns instead. Also, as I'm sure you are aware, the 'PGA Hallmarks' page acknowledges that these are not 'peaceful' people. Again, my thoughts are with all of you.

There are a lot of Minuteman type operations. I do not solict for anyone, but if someone asks, I offer the PO Box for the guys on the border full time.

That way, there is no "overheard" no administration costs, no one is getting a salary they will literaly take someone's $20 and go staight to the gas station and buy gas for the vehicles.

I feel a great responsibility when someone asks where they can give money, that all of it be used as they intended.

After getting your ping, I was getting all set to leave at 4:00 am tomorrow to join the rally. But in looking at the financial aspect - it would cost me about $120 to drive down there. It might be better for the MMP if I donate that money, rather than use it on gas.

Is this a rally that needs a show of support? If so, I'll gladly go. Or if it is more of a need for supplies, I'll donate the gas money plus battery/canned good money so more will be available for the Minutemen on the line.

Ladycalif, please let me know what you think will be the most useful to you in this case.
