Medical Students Traveling to Harrisburg, Pa. to Urge State Legislators to Pass Bill Banning Bulk Sales of Handguns

News Advisory:

A group of Philadelphia area medical students are coming to the State Capitol Monday, April 24 to visit legislators and urge them to take action on a bill that would restrict sales of multiple handguns. Such multiple sales have been identified by law enforcement experts as a sign of illegal gun trafficking.

"As physicians in training, we are directly confronted by the results of handgun violence and are deeply concerned about the health of our patients," explained student Rachael Truchil. "The tragic results of gun shot wounds are evident. We would rather focus our efforts on prevention of the injury, than unsuccessful attempts to repair the injury."

The medical students, from the Temple University School of Medicine, Drexel University College of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, will be available for comment in the Capitol Rotunda at 11 a.m., where a gathering is planned to mark Victim's Rights Week.

They should ban the bulk sale of cigarettes also. Twenty in a pack is outrageous.

"Bulk" sales = 2 handguns or more.

(Could someone please post the doctors vs. guns calculation? And send a copy to these students?)

So what's the definition of "bulk" gun sales? The statement made moved from that word to "multiple".... Does that mean Mr. Joe who shoots ITPA and decides it's time for a couple of new guns for his shooting - and wants to buy two at the same time, that would be "bulk"???

Liberals love to use language against us..... In this case, they are trying to make it sound like folks are buying van-loads of handguns....but watch out, they already let slip that it's just "multiple" hangun purchases they are trying to stop. Next will be multiple within a time window...a day, week, month, year, decade, lifetime? Where does it end?

Apparently the study of medicine and the study of the Bill of Rights are incompatible.

Imagine its 1812 and the British are capturing American civilians and forcing them to serve in the British Navy

1st Seaman: Run to hold and get the muskets, they are boarding

2nd seaman: We've only got one musket

1st Seaman: WTF?

2nd Seaman: Some medical students said we shouldn't ever buy more than one gun.

I am relieved to see that "law enforcement authorities" have determined how many handguns I can buy at one time without being sucked into the nefarious world of gun running! I really worry about that a lot. Why won't the gubment save me from my darkest impulses???? Why why why?

To doctors in training: stick to learning how to practice medicine. Leave the rest of us TF alone.

Gonna be hard on Police Departments to do a sidearm replacemet program at the rate of one gun a month.

How many people died for the 2nd Amendment?

You know, the American Revolution began when the British tried to seize the Colonist's guns.

Those that don't know history are doomed to repeat it.

I seem to recall that deaths due to malpractice far exceeds gun deaths. I'll go look for the stats

will be available for comment in the Capitol Rotunda at 11 a.m., where a gathering is planned to mark Victim's Rights Week

They pretty much just posted a neon sign to all armed crack addicts that a bunch of extremely rich unarmed people are going to be gathering in mass with no way to defend them selves if someone who has no money wants to take all thiers

I hope these students have fun looking for jobs in PA. Per another FR thread PA is losing physicians by the thousands.

IIRC, doctors kill Americans three times more often than do firearms. We should ban medical students instead.

Physicians kill more people than do handguns.

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

"As physicians in training, we are directly confronted by the results of handgun violence ..."

Not nice and tidy, like shotgun wounds.
