Perhaps the thread could more constructively be titled "Draft Condi for VP, Bush urged"
There's no question Cheney has served one of the most valuable lives of American public service in history. He was crucial in the first Iraq war under W's father, and he's a terrific guy.
But he's not going to help Republicans do anything. Zip. Zero. He's become like Bob Dole. Capable, heroic, but uninspiring to the American electorate.
Republicans need to start thinking ahead. 2008. 2006 (though that's not really ahead anymore)
A Vice President Rice - would energize and totally charge the public debate. It would bring a generation of young African Americans kicking and screaming to head-on confront the nature of race relations in 21st century America.
And she's every bit as capable, as Cheney.
It's time for a new face.
It's time for Republicans to surprize and inspire.
Draft Condoleezza!

Perhaps but the possibility of a die-hard conservative napping while listening to a commie still makes me laugh.

"Rice to VP, Cheney to State. Rumsfeld to CIA (we'll just fold CIA into the Defense Department, the few who can still pass a security clearance check)."
EXCELLENT IDEA! (IMO)

Absolutely and if they think it will sell a few papers or give them air time they will say it even if they know it either impossible or untrue.

You will appreciate this photo then of the VP not seeming very interested in the Indian PM addressing a joint session of congress - I know not a commie but you get my train of thought.

>i> REPUBLICANS are urging President George W Bush to dump Dick Cheney as vice-president and replace him with Condoleezza Rice
REPUBLICANS? Does that mean just two or many?
Dump Rumsfeld. Dump Chaney. That's all we hear from the media. Why don't they just give it a rest? Some reporters think they are so damn smart and know all about how to run this country. They couldn't run their kid's toy train without derailing it. If they are so smart let them run for office. They won't because they couldn't get elected to their town counsel.

They are incapable, because they are taught nonsense. For instance, those who went wild because of the 2000 presidential election have no idea that the Constitution puts the choice not in the hands of the voters of the state but in the hands of the legislature. If they were consistent in their disdain of federalism, they might wonder how it is that a Senator Leahy, who represents fewer people than my congressman has such power. But really they do not support the principle of majority rule. When Bush got a large majority in 2004, they argued that the result of a single State, Ohio, should be corrected and allowed to determine the election.

Yep. That's my guy. I know he wouldn't win but I wish Cheney could succeed Bush.

Cameras aren't allowed in the SCOTUS - but court artists are - here it is:
LOL
Justice Ginsburg's Afternoon Nap From the AP: "The subject matter was extremely technical, and near the end of the argument Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg dozed in her chair. Justices David Souter and Samuel Alito, who flank the 72-year-old, looked at her but did not give her a nudge."

I think the media believes that if they repeat something often enough it will come true. Bump!

They want the rules changed/adjusted/interpreted to suit them regardless of what is law/right or fair.
I know we are all somewhat guilty of doing that to a lesser or greater extent but the left seem to do it all the time and treat it as their right to do so.

Note to Sarah Baxter... Bush is not running for election again and he is not Bill Clinton looking for a legacy.

I think the media believes that if they repeat something often enough it will come true. This tactic is straight from the old Communist Party handbook - which lives on in the DimRats and Lamestream Media's play-book

Great comment, this legacy thing is so irritating, we have not had this before in Britain but they keep referring to Blair's legacy never known it before.
The press/media are getting so lazy now they do not want to actually report news but just copy each other and get self publicity.

We need a new, strong face on the war, such as Senator John McCain or Joe Lieberman (the pro-war Democrat senator). That makes sense.. right after Denis Kucinich gets appointed to the department of peace.
