He might have a need for guards but he sure doen't have a need for a comb .
can't be "assault rifles" if they are not select-fire actions.
If it looks like an assualt rifle, it is an assault rifle...< / incredibly moronic media spoksperson >
well, this LOOKS like an assault-rifle, but it is a semi-auto only shotgun...
And a good looking one at that... what's that, a ten round mag?
it is essentially a gas-operated semi-auto AK47 shotgun in 12ga, 20ga, and .410caliber
go to this site and check it out.
The Russian-American Armory Company is the current importer. Thank the LORD they came along - prices on Saiga shotguns were going through the roof at auctions, due to increasing rarity.
a detailed article on the Saiga-12 exists in wikipedia, copied from a dedicated AK review website iirc.
some happy folks among the FR banglisters have these weapons, and have endorsed them as generally excellent field and home-defense guns
And, as you know, I'm one of those happy folks.

They come with 5 round magazines, but you can get 8 rounders on the gray market, and there are US-made 10 rounders in development by at least three different entities. There's also talk about converting some mags to be drum feed mechanisms.
There's a small but growing aftermarket for these things. I love mine - the reliability of the AK mechanism in a mag-fed shotgun - best of all worlds.
I shall be joining that happy group inside a month, now that they are once again available in a working-man's pricerange.
I am a working man but apparently have too many wife and kids.
If you buy two and give me one then we both will be happy!

The AWB in NJ occured before Clinton's AWB. It is a lot more stringent than the fed version. Magazine capacity more than 15 rounds (including blocked ones) are illegal, the M-1 WWII carbine is illegal, having a folding stock with no weapon in it is illegal, having parts of a large capacity magazine is illegal, having parts for any of the forbidden weapons are illegal, a 15 round mag where a LEO can force in a 16th round and despite the overloaded magazine cannot function in the weapon can constitutes a violation (numerous online vendors refuse to sell 15 round mags to NJ). NJ LEO are instructed to seize any weapon that looks AW like, and let the courts sort it out. Many NJ LEO are not familiar with firearm laws. No matter what the fed/state laws say, in NJ, the police will seize it first and then let the lawyers and judges sort it out. If you inadvertly violate the rules, most of the time the AG gives NJ owners (with no criminal records) two options - face a trial and if found guilty face the maximum fine and prison sentence or plead guilty to a lesser charge with no jail time, but you will lose your gun collection and right to own firearms.
I'm so glad I'm moving out of NJ. CT isn't that great from a gun law perspective, but it is much better than NJ!
hrmn...
hrmn...
talkt to me about that in about two months, ok?
seriously.
Well...you can only hope one of his body guards does it then.
