A traitor in the midst

What do you call someone who, in violation of her oath, reveals government secrets to a reporter, who then prints them and exposes a clandestine operation designed to get information from suspected terrorists that could save American lives?

Here is what one dictionary says about that word: "One who betrays another's trust or is false to an obligation or duty." The word so defined is traitor.

The Central Intelligence Agency fired an intelligence officer after determining she leaked classified information to a Washington Post reporter about secret overseas prisons used for interrogating suspected terrorists. News reports say the fired employee is Mary McCarthy, who was appointed by former National Security Adviser Samuel Berger as special assistant to President Bill Clinton and senior director for Intelligence Programs. Berger has had his own problems with classified documents. In 2005, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges that he stole five copies of highly classified terrorism documents while doing "research" at the National Archives building.

Virtually all people who handle classified documents, whether members of Congress or their staff, or employees of the Central Intelligence Agency, take an oath not to reveal those documents to anyone without proper authorization. McCarthy is alleged to have violated that oath. Such oaths are nothing new. They extend back to the founding of the nation.

On Nov. 9, 1775, the Continental Congress adopted its own oath of secrecy. The language may seem antiquated, but it appeals to character qualities that appear to be in short supply today: "Resolved: That every member of this Congress considers himself under the ties of virtue, honour and love of his country, not to divulge, directly or indirectly, any matter or thing agitated or debated in Congress

But to listen to John Effing Kerry sit there in an interview and pontificate that Mary is a "good" leaker as opposed to "bad" leakers Bush, Cheney, and Libber makes me want to hurl. The average Joe six pack who has never had a security clearance only hears the Kerry version. Why isn't the WH, CIA, DOJ, et.al. explaining this treasonous act on TV? No, when I am running through the channels who do I see being interviewed but Ray McGovern, a former fellow CIA analyst of McCarthy's. I have hear McGovern on Err Amerika and he is a traitor also I believe. These are all Clintoon/Gore/Kerry supporters.

We have a SERIOUS problem. One of the two parties of the United States is committed to doing *anything* to not just win, but to deny any kind of victory to their poltical competition.

If millions of innocent people have to die in the process so be it.

This is not new. These commie hacks defeated us in Vietnam and brought about genocide in Southeast Asia.

This woman should be in federal prison.

Just keep repeating 'Culture of Treason' every chance you get. Some of the electorate will hear you.

Exactly. These are the very people who tried to destroy this country in the 60's and now that they've weasled their way into power, they are back to finish her off.

And the ONLY thing standing in their way is the Republican Pary's control of all three branches of the government.

I'm pretty ticked at the prez and Republicans. But we have an excellent ticket of Republicans here in Arizona this year. Randy Graf is as anti-illegal as you get.

Of course this is an outrage. But we're forgetting something: This woman, along with scores of other Clintonoids, was allowed to remain in her sensitive position at the CIA by........who? Even after the attacks of 9/11/01, when the vast majority of the electorate would have little problem with replacing the entire uper echelon of numerous government agencies, including the CIA, she was retained in her seat.

Sandy Burger was allowed to get away with theft of secret documents from government archives with a minor slap on the wrist. Why? On Sept. 12, 2001, this president could have ordered a massive house-cleaning in numerous government agencies who were asleep at the switch on Sept. 11th with overwhelming public support. Why didn't he? Scooter Libby, for those who may be unaware, was also the lawyer for Marc Rich, of Clinton "Pardongate" infamy.

It's way past time for folks - especially those who have any loyalty to this country - to start thinking outside the box!

How "ticked" will you be at the Democrats when the first thing they do is dismantle the Electoral College?

Because that IS what they are going to do.

And the people leaking all this crap are the VERY people who helped Bill Clinton dismantled the United States Military.

Yeah, let's put them in office. Quick as we can.

Howlin sez:

"And the ONLY thing standing in their way is the Republican Party's control of all three branches of the government."

Hardly. At least 55 percent of the Republicans aren't standing in the way at all, but actually share the same nihilistic treasonous agenda with Dhimmirats like the billionaire gigolo Jean François Kerry. There's not a dime's worth of difference, as someone stated long ago.

"Has politics come to this: that the national security of this country can be compromised for political gain?"

Politics have come to this: that the national security of this country can be compromised for political gain!

Is this new: that a political party would put political power first before security and endanger our military while protecting their country?

Politics have come to this. It started the day George W. Bush announced his intentions to run for President of the United States.
