Thanks for making my point.

He's said much worse in syndicated columns than he's said here.

I am sure the MSM will use those against him...

They always shove old McClellan quotes at him...BUT, Scott's are from when he was the Press Secretary...

Tony's were not...not that it will matter to the dems and MSM...

"GEORGE BUSH HAS BECOME SOMETHING OF AN EMBARRASSMENT" [Byron York]

Expect to see a lot of this. Anticipating that Tony Snow will be named the new White House press secretary, the lefty think tank Center for American Progress has dug up quotes from Snow's recent columns, many of them blasting the president from the right (and many of them similar to complaints about the president found here on NRO). Among the ones cited by the Center:

Bush has “lost control of the federal budget and cannot resist the temptation to stop raiding the public fisc.” [3/17/06]
"George W. Bush and his colleagues have become not merely the custodians of the largest government in the history of humankind, but also exponents of its vigorous expansion.” [3/17/06]

President Bush distilled the essence of his presidency in this year’s State of the Union Address: brilliant foreign policy and listless domestic policy.” [2/3/06]

"George Bush has become something of an embarrassment.” [11/11/05]

Bush “has a habit of singing from the Political Correctness hymnal.” [10/7/05]

“No president has looked this impotent this long when it comes to defending presidential powers and prerogatives.” [9/30/05]

Bush “has given the impression that [he] is more eager to please than lead, and that political opponents can get their way if they simply dig in their heels and behave like petulant trust-fund brats, demanding money and favor — now!” [9/30/05]

no, no... no worries; I was only wondering if you knew if it was possible. I'll try to find something too (although somehow I think I'll have to bow to the master). Thanks for all you do here on FR.

I have a list of the freepers from this thread...that want to be pinged to a Tony announcement thread tomorrow morning...

Since we don't know what time...and my mornings can be rather hectic...

IF I am not there when it starts...could you guys use your Snow show ping list...and ping ME...so I will ping my list ASAP!!

I am going to try to get online earlier than usual..because being Central time zone...a lot of times when I think it is too early for something to happen...it isn't in Wash....BUT, my granddaughter keeps me busy early in the morning as well..

If this is anything like his usual announcements it won't take very long...a few words from President Bush, and a few words from Tony...I hope his family is there!!

If someone has already touched upon this, I apologize, but isn't it difficult to get out of his radio or TV contract, even if it is to work for the POTUS? I think Tony is the absolute best choice for a replacement but giving up 2 great long term gigs for one great short term gig puzzles me.

Me too....the Rose Garden, with Tony and his family.

I have some "differences" with Tony...like I do with President Bush...but, a freeper as WH Press Secretary is like "family"! LOL

Maybe Tony can put in a good word for FReepers and get one of the DC FReepers a permanent press pass to the daily press briefings or at least let them be a roving reporter occassionally. With all the support the FReepers have given Bush and the headaches they have given the Clintons they deserve something. (Well, I can dream can't I?)
