Backlash at May Day illegal alien protest closures. (A week without customers!) vanity
Posted on 04/26/2006 10:31:17 AM PDT by Names Ash Housewares
Listening to Rick Roberts in San Diego this morning he mention doing this. I'm going to pay special attention and hopefully there will be a list of businesses that close for the May Day protests. They will not see my money for a long time if ever again. Our cafeteria in our building will be closed that day. They will never see another dime from me!

It might be a good thing to boycott those business, especially during the month of May--if ever to return. See how they like it then!

I wonder what Mexican restaurants & bars would think about Americans boycotting their establishments on Cinco de Mayo. LOL

Boycott all beef products for a week and you will really flex your muscle. This includes fast food, dining out etc. Plus as far as boycotts go this one would be easy to remember and it will have a huge effect across the illegal immigrant and employer communities.

I have already begun my own boycott. I definitely will not patronize any business that lets illegals off for this commie-day protest. In any case, businesses that hire illegals are using my tax dollars to lower their labor costs and increase their profits. BTTT

If they choose to close on Monday for the protests. I hope they go out of business.
To: aft_lizard
Sux for us beef growers though, doesn't it? I suppose illegals are active in all food picking/processing/prep. Best just to boycott food for a week, that'll show 'em.
Seriously though, I'd boycott any business that closes for the day.

if they want to boycott America then we'll just boycott Mexico...
and they'll be no more vacations south of the Mexican border either!

That is my criteria. I can't know if someone working at a business is illegal or not for sure. But I sure can tell who is closed that day and why!

Just heard from my wife about INS raids on businesses here in North Texas, Denton County area.
They're hitting construction sites (!), builders, and companies like where she works, cabinet-makers.
All just rumor, at this point, but good news - unless my wife calls from the jail...

I think placing polite calls to The White House, your state and federal
legislators, ICE, and local law enforcement officials...to tell
them "Hey, there are a bunch of people that are illegal immigrants
marching in the streets and I don't see you arresting any of them.
Hey, turn to FOX News! Looks like a target-rich environment!!!"
Myself, I'd like to see those phone exchanges lock up on May 1 with those
calls.
But if a national move was made, somebody from La Raza (and all
their lovers in the MSM) would claim it was calls in favor of
making the illegals citizens that locked up the phone exchanges.

Those immigration raids sound good.
So long as Bush doesn't have his amnesty in the bag, he is liable to do a little enforcement of the immigration laws.
If he ever got the amnesty, enforcement would shut down.

We can boycott them forever. How long can they boycott us? Too many politicians take money from businesses that hire illegals. This is why politicians do nothing about the problem. We can send them a message that they all understand; NO BUSINESS = NO MONEY = NO POLITICAL DONATIONS.

I'm a little concerned about the Mexican restaurant boycott. Some Mexican restaurants are owned by Americans and they don't hire illegal aliens. If you do have a favorite Mexican restaurant that you go to, I would suggest talking to the owner and finding out some facts before you hurt a legitimate business owner.

I don't know about the Cherokee national holiday. My kids descend from the Iroquois Nation on their father's side. Don't know any holidays on their side. I'd guess and say Harvest Moon. Their whole tradition has been totally screwed up to the point, where we'd have to ask an anthropologist.

I wanted to go to Wal Mart, the mall, etc. that day to counteract some of the damage conceived that day but couldn't get out until after 5:00. I wanted to take a drive and note what businesses in my area were closed, as well. I live in a city which is predominately Hispanic. I really felt outnumbered here. Unfortunately, it all doesn't seem as much about immigration as it does about the overwhelming push of the Mexican flag and Spanish language. Not the people, but that aspect of the people causes me to want to take up residence elsewhere where there is a better even mixture of people with different native backgrounds, but I have thought that if all of us who are really American and wave only the American flag, if any flag, and speak English were to do this, it would be like giving Mexico a border city piece of America to claim as an extension of Mexico. I have found myself wishing that we could somehow bring lots of Americans who speak English and do not wave the Mexican flag here to dilute the Spanish Mexican stuff here for the over all sake of America, no matter what background country is represented by such Americans that have united under the American flag and the English language. If not a material wall put up along the borders, at least a large population of human Americans protecting our borders from those who seemingly want not to become Americans, but wish to expand their Mexico. I love Mexican people as human beings, I do not like any of them pushing the Mexican language and flag down America's throat. Americans could not do such in Mexico. I feel that those who do so here should not be addressed with some sort of pity because they have worked in this country, too, but haven't been given the citizenship they have tried to steal. If they want to become citizens, then let them agree to become true American citizens and put away that Mexican flag and not push Spanish at us. I don't dislike the Spanish language or the Mexican flag in themselves. I do dislike the imposition upon America. I feel like these people are guilty of some sort of treason if they consider themselves American or claim they want to be American but wave that Mexican flag. I wonder why those of us who wish to protect our traditional America have not found a way to show them our numbers in the streets? No, we have to be quiet, or as someone here said, be called racists? Seems to me with all the insistance upon Spanish being used and that flag being waved....they are the racists.
To: hispanarepublicana
Pinko hey? What is wrong with being pale in color with blush in the skin? It isn't a negative any more than being brown or black? As for your living examples of why cousins shouldn't marry cousins stuff...that's racist stuff against whites that may have been true of some, but certainly not all. I know that there are some Mexicans who have thought nothing of the father-daughter thing (and cousin thing, too), but we wouldn't want to spread that kind of stigma around, would we? So, why don't you stop with the Pinko thing. I think all of America should drop of the color thing, period, and any attention given to race if we are to be truly united. But, one thing is for sure...there is a strong issue in the air over the flag and language of this united country of immigrants with many background countries.
Anyone waving a flag not American is being unAmerican and racist. Is this really what this day without immigrants really about? Mexican power?
To: chrysalischild
Hi, Chrysalis,
I live in Albquerque - so I know about a mostly or close to mostly hispanic population.
WalMart was not as crowded as usual, BUT the hispanic employees all seemed to be there. I saw some hispanic shoppers just not as many as usual. I went before work so it might have been different later in the day.
Most Hispanics here have been here for generations - literally - so there isn't the support for this illegal nonsense here that there is in LA etc.
Most are saying their big walkout was not a success - at least from their point of view. School kids - big deal, kids will do anything to get out of school.
I don't care if they call me a racist - I know my heart. We just aren't a protesting in the street kind of people ... but we are with-holding money from pols and the GOP.
I had planned to work in the campaign this fall too but - if I don't see positive change (and that means starting a real physical wall and certainly NO amnesty or worker program) or at the very least NO change because they are afraid to do anything before the elections, I won't be working for the cause either.

Did you forget to take your meds? I never mentioned any ethnicity in my tag line about cousins. It's an expression I regularly use with anyone--of any ethnicty--who does or says something dumb. Why so defensive?
Further, "PINKO" does not refer to race or ethnicity, but to a term regularly used by conservatives for anything leaning toward communism. I've pasted the Wikepedia Enclypedia reference for you so that maybe next time you'll think and research before jumping to conclusions just because you're looking for someone on whom to take out your anger about illegals marching in the streets. (Here's a little secret that you'll probably never believe, but I'll tell you anyway--I'm as angry or angrier than you are about the "Mexican power" crap and the illegals in the streets).
Pinko
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
Pinko is a derogatory term for a person sympathetic to a Communist Party, but not necessarily a communist.
[edit]
History
The word 'pinko' first became popular during the Cold War to designate those who supported the Soviet Union. The word was predominantly used in the United States, where opposition to Communism grew strong among the population, especially during the era of the McCarthy hearings. One of the most famous uses of the word is a quote attributed to Richard Nixon, talking in 1950 about Helen Gahagan Douglas: "She's pink down to her underwear!", referring to the fact that at the time, pink was the main color of women's undergarments.
The word 'pinko' likely has its origins in the relations between the colors pink and red. Since pink is a lighter shade of red, the color most associated with communism, pink could be thought of as a "lighter form of communism" practiced by mere supporters of Marxism or socialism as opposed to card-carrying communists.
