It is astonishing how events have fallen out exactly as this article was predicting, except that the Islamist government has apparently completely neutered the military, removing the last realistic hope for Turkey to be connected to the West.

Turkey’s biggest problem will be Iran — they just don’t seem to know it yet. The Iranians have been financing the Islamofascist political party running Turkey, while at the same time the Kurdish militias aren’t pulling weapons and ammo out of a hat. Iran needs a neutral Turkey at worst, and a (temporary) Turkish ally at best.
