I think that the GOP is maybe somewhat fanatical in this area. Right now, every woman has the RIGHT TO CHOOSE whether or not she'll have a child, and there is no problem other than that of those who are obsessed with wanting to take away that right and return her to the last century.

I didn't see that Black comment, but I don't have my glasses! You are correct, and/but GOPUSA is somewhat MORE fanatical about abortion than the rest of the party.

The GOP will be hard-pressed to find an appropriate candidate for 2008 who is solidly anti-abortion, and I predict this will further divide the conservative from the more moderate in the party.

Where did that come from? A person is a person, whether they are a fetus or black (or both).

When I said you have to note the good and the bad I was talking about the Bush Administration and the republican congress who have both screwed the pooch on a number of issues (read: immigration) but have done well on others (judicial appointments and tax cuts). I was just saying you have to give credit where it's due: be it good credit or bad credit.

That's one of the weirder arguments put forth by abortion supporters. One of the alleged justifications the Supreme Court used for legalizing abortion was that it was legal and accepted in ancient and medieval societies.
