Its Vatican protocal thats all right. Gosh I have seen US MArines kiss the Pope's ring when he has visted. Gosh, Jeb Bush knelt before Benedict. Its just a sign of respect to the office.

How does wearing a particular color to meet a church official serve our Lord God? I suspect the Pope isn't worrying about it as much as the religious snobs are.

I doubt the Pope cared, but that isn't the point, there is protocol that Mrs. Blair should know as the wife of the British Prime Minister. And it should also be pointed out that in addition to being a religious leader, the Pope is a recognized head of state.

Does all that really make a difference? In the eyes of God, she and the Pope are both sinners.

And in the eyes of the world, the Pope is a head of state who should be afforded traditional protocol when he is meeting with an official guest.

Jeb Bush knelt before Benedict. Its just a sign of respect to the office.

Now that doesn't sound good, kneeling before other men sounds a bit unbiblical to me.

Oh, you mean like the Washington Press Corp respects the President of the United States.

I think the way the press corps treats Bush is horrible; however, this is still different, this was an OFFICIAL visit.

LOL, gotta love it. Reserved for Catholic Queens by backside.. If it were me, I'd have told the Pope he could kiss my little finger. Who does he think he is..

Who does he think he is..

He thinks he is the Pope. And he's right.

No bright one, I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of people like you who seem to want to distinguish certain abuses while ignoring many others where more abuse takes place.

I on the other hand want every single pedophile arrested, charged and convicted no matter where they come from, and guess what einstein, more of them come from the teacher category than they do from priests.

Oh and by the way bright one, I don't refer to it as my Church as there is only one church.

I also did not delineate between Governement Run Schools, that was your little FALSE assumption. I said Teachers, so scroll up, read slowly if capable, and try to keep up.

Give your NEA Donation yet?

Its funny but when the White House press corp visited the Vatican with Laura Bush a couple of months back the press really got put in their place by nuns that run the show there.

It's vanity masquerading as being religious.

You know Mrs Blair asked to go. She went to the Vatican. I agree follow protocal. PLus she is representing a Country whose head of Govt broke away from the Church in the past. That makes the whole issue of protocal worse since she is wearing a color that is reserved for Royals that remained loyal.

And that's supposed to impress who? Is this not supposed to be a servant and a lowly shepherd.. Biblically speaking- oh, right, forgot all that nonsense.. And I'm sure it's wrong of me to inject some obvious stuff like that.. Really, who does he think he is. Pope is a religious title unknown to Christianity. It may be known to Catholics; but, that's sorta part of my point.

It's vanity masquerading as being Christian. If it were mere religiosity, one might understand it; but, it's pretense beyond that and flying boldly in the face of what should be if there was anything Christian about them. Mr. Obvious has apparently visited you too it would seem lol.

I forgot who in the Bible knelt before the angel, who was greatly distessed and told that man to get up as he should kneel only to God.

No mere man should demand another kneel to him.
