The original star-spangled banner - the mammoth U.S. flag that flew over Baltimore's Fort McHenry - survived 25 hours of fierce British bombardment on Sept. 13-14, 1814. No doubt the national anthem which that event inspired will survive the latest assault on its standing.

........a Spanish-language version featuring pop singers and rappers..... But another remix is due out soon - a decidedly uglier version. It contains several lines in English that bitterly condemn U.S. immigration laws........lo and behold, the supposed ode to immigrants turns out to be little more than a propaganda anthem in the battle to legalize illegal immigrants. Even without the political message, however, a Spanish-language rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner is problematic.

For earlier generations of immigrants, assimilation into American society began with learning English. And make no mistake: Assimilation has sustained both the nation and the immigrants who have prospered here. That doesn't mean totally abandoning one's native heritage, of course. But realizing the American dream is about more than taking advantage of better living standards and higher wages: It's about choosing to become part of a very unique, very special society.

One tiny project for our RINO legislators to work on would be the elimination of public funding for multi-language government documents, signage and the like. Getting the feds out of this stupid business would take the wind out of the sails of this divisive movement by depriving national legitimacy and, more importantly, sucking the juicy cash barrel dry. In this way, any level of government continuing to dump money would be back lit and easily targeted since they couldn't pass the buck.

I believe that this act, alone, would signal to the illegal population to the changing climate far more than any tempest in a teapot stuff like this in-your-face anthem. Granted, it would be a largely symbolic victory, but doing it and cramming it down RAT throats would be like a Hail Mary pass in the last minutes of the game in that it would re-energize most of us battered conservatives to some semblance of hope and it would telegraph deeper shocks to the structure of social leniency that the left has constructed over the last 40 years.

Excellent point. Now, here's a way to get that going, another route through the illegal morass:

All public officials---elected and appointed--- in their capacity as fiduciaries of public monies, are required, by law, to be bonded.

The express purpose of bonding is to protect the public's money. Each state sets their own regulations.

Now, say public funds went missing and the public official failed to get bond coverage; the state would have no way to recover that money other than restitution through a criminal prosecution.

If it is determined a public official failed to apply for bond coverage, he/she has broken the law and is subject to an actionable offense.

Public entities that mandate bonding include: Municipalities, counties, townships, school districts, ambulance districts, volunteer fire departments, community college districts, public universities, transit authorities, landfills, sewage treatment facilities, public works maintenance facilities, airports.

Concerns on this issue center on instances when elected and appointed public officials allowed government agencies to misuse tax dollars-----allowing illegals to use phony documentation to get government benefits, to vote in elections for tax-exempt municipal financing issues, and the like...........this is an example of fiduciary negligence, and could violate the state's bonding regulations, and the bonding requirements of the carrier.

Now, if a public official with bonding had previous financial problems---perhaps a bankruptcy or a job loss for financial improprieties, etc---that they failed to reveal to bonding agents, that might subject them to legal penalties.

Public officials who do not qualify for bonding should be tossed out of office. Public officials who lied on bonding applications might be subjected to fines or imprisonment.

Chick-Fil-A fast food stores are not on the list of Top 10 businesses that give to Republicans---but Chick-Fil-A is a Christian-centered fast food company that actually closes all of its stores on Sunday, to honor the Lord's day. Their official statement of corporate purpose says that we exist "to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-Fil-A." The Chick-Fil-A menu is very healthy---lots of salads and yummy chicken filet sandwiches. Their waffle fries are really good. No burgers here. The food service caters to children and families.

For the purpose of discussion, lets just say we have an even 300K people here and we "amnestitize" the 20 million illegals here.

Within less than a generation they will become 100K, families and children included, that will make the population 400K.

Whats my point? By diluting the population with 100k more people who refuse to assimilate, ALL of us, right wing, left wing, moderate, it doesn't matter, All of us will have our vote DILUTED by 1/3rd !

This gov't through its, coordinated inaction and inabiling is manuevering to take away the full effect of your vote.

Since Republicans in significant numbers and the RNC favor legalization of illegal aliens, why should I shop at those places just because they give money to Republicans? I fail to see the connection to this issue.
