May 1 closures: who to boycott? Rallies (Live thread)
05/01/06

Posted on 04/30/2006 9:38:02 PM PDT by Heartofsong83

This should be a list of who is planning to close their business on Monday, May 1 in response of the Great American Boycott. We should compile it and boycott them ourselves if possible!

Remember to go shopping or work overtime on May 1!

Still say we have to work "both sides of the street". Boycott the likes of Tyson and shower businesses which do the right thing with our dollars.

I would have applauded!

Yes many people who had a heart for the illegals are seeing their sympathy rewarded by this ugly demonstration of 'power'.

My son's own employees are taking the day off in solidarity. I can tell you things will be different in the future. These are legals, earning good pay with good benefits.

They are looked upon with a new attitude now.

Unless there are strict laws against hiring illegal aliens, and providing services for them, a proposed "boycott" against certain companies won't mean jackSquat.

I always thought "illegal" meant "illegal".

In terms of "illegal aliens" it seems to mean "nod-nod-wink-wink" get in line for your paycheck and your health and educational services.
No prob. Who wouldn't want to come here illegally for great money and lowcost/free services and education???????

I've heard rumors to that effect also- so tell me- what meat do you buy?

If you have a freezer, the only way to go is to buy your beef direct from the rancher. I currently have an order in for a side of beef for $1.74/lb. BTW, I haven't bought Tyson chicken for decades.

In the boonies of Texas, I haven't heard anything about protests. After work, I'm heading to do some massive Walmart shopping!

While pumping the gas, I saw a typical illegal alien yard crew pull into the station. The usual "crowd" was standing around and I saw a beautiful thing.

I am pleased to report another beautiful thing. The two best Mexican restaurants in Citrus County, Florida - El Ranchito, and Las Lomas, are both open for business today, and appear to be fully staffed by their usual folks.

I've had two threads pulled and your thread is what is designated as our LIVE thread for today

Something is definitely going on. I was on another thread where there was a group of citizens and politicians from Virginia talking about illegal aliens on c-span and the thread was pulled.

Great idea. Any group of people who are or wish to be Americans, who also think hurting America is a great way to make a political point are loyal Democrats whether they're legal to vote or not.

It's interesting that CNN is citing "thousands of protestors" today. Out of millions. Doesn't look like the enemy drummed up as much interest as hoped.

We'll have to wait and see. I do think it will be overestimated greatly though.

You and I both know that "ANSWER" and a host of other advocate groups have high jacked what was to be a simple demonstration in the best American tradition.

What is at the root of the opposition, has also been high jacked by advocacy groups and their concerns have little to do with illegal immigration, but more to do with immigration period, and globalization, majority/minority status and a host of other issues.

Unfortunately, conservatives have now joined a fray that will damage the entire movement.

It's a damn shame really......a sad reality that has major ramifications for the future of the RNC.

Well I feel sorta bad having the day off today, however, I'm going to buy some CDs and a new home theater system, 600 Watts... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, gonna love testing it out. If any protesters come by this place, I see they're "Si Se Puede" and raise them a Heavy Metal Thunder.
