There was another thread yesterday talking about how the Mexican war that liberated the southwestern US was an old wound that is aggravating today's situation. Obviously, we need a new war.

If not for slavery, we would have kept Mexico in 1847. Hindsight being 20/20, we should have built them a constitutional republic a'la Iraq, and not left so quickly. It would have been easy compared to what we're into today because the Mexicans were Christian and not loopy Muslims.
