I just heard on KFYO: 1,000 to 1,500 demonstrators, and it lasted on the courthouse lawn from 30 minutes to an hour.
We'll see how the local TV media plays it.
Well, the local media slant will vary from one station to another; however, I bet that the Big 3 will be very similar while the local Fox affiliate will be diefferent from the "mainstream" folks.
diefferent = different
BOYCOTT MEXICO: DO NOT TAKE YOUR VACATION IN MEXICO
Okay, Mayday is here and the illegal immigrants and their activists are celebrating a day without illegal immigrants and "Nothing Gringo Day" in Mexico. Today I heard on the news that a lot of people were out shopping supporting the U.S. economy, while not buying anything made in Mexico. You want to really put a hurting on them. Don't buy anything "made in Mexico" for the rest of the year. Spread the word. We help them a whole lot more than they and their illegal immigrants help us. Let's show them.
Okay. I'll spread the word. But what exactly is "made in Mexico"? Corona beer? Those nice blankets? I guess i could do without those blankets. And i'm a Heini girl anyway.
Lou Dobbs on CNN also made that very point:
Dobbs: Radical groups taking control of immigrant movement

Most of the mainstream media has been absolutely co-opted by the open borders and illegal immigration advocates.
But only one newspaper, to its credit, reported that illegal aliens and their supporters' boycott of the national economy on the First of May is clear evidence that radical elements have seized control of the movement. The Washington Post, alone among national papers, reported that ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) has become an active promoter of the national boycott.
Some illegal immigration and open borders activists in the Hispanic community are deeply concerned about the involvement of the left-wing radical group. But others, like Juan Jose Gutierrez, whom I've interviewed a number of times over the past several months, manages to be both director of Latino Movement USA and a representative of ANSWER."
