The Great American Spend-A-Lot
KFI AM 640 ^ | May 1, 2006 | KFI AM 640

ALERT! The Great American Spend-A-Lot!

Here's a great way to justify a shopping spree--where your legal status and your legal tender meet.

Monday, May 1st, while Latino activists are encouraging other Latinos to walk out on their jobs and boycott spending in any businesses, we want you to do the exact opposite. SPEND, SPEND, AND SPEND!

To reward you and your financial patriotism, KFI AM 640 (Los Angeles) and the "John and Ken Show" will be reimbursing buyers for your legal citizen-spending spree.

Fax or e-mail a copy of a receipt for something you purchased on May 1st, 2006 and it will go into a drawing. Twice an hour during their show that day (3-7PM) John and Ken will go into the special "winds of change booth" that will blow the receipts around allowing John and Ken to choose just one at a time.

The winners will be reimbursed up to $640 per receipt.

Fax RECEIPTS to: (818) 260-9968 -OR- E-mail to: Promotions@KFIAM640.com

Please make your voice heard by participating in The Great American Spend-a-Lot!

You can also go the extra mile and join CAPS in our effort to stop the flood of people entering our country! You may join on-line by clicking here, or call our office for more information at (805) 564-6626.

Somebody should do a check and see how much shop lifting decreases today.

There's a good video of the Minutemen building the fence on this site.

Hi.
I am an immigrant (a legal one). When I came here, I didn't demand any special rights for myself. I was free, I was happy to be here, and I worked very hard to create a life for myself.
These kinds of boycotts make my blood boil. Especially since they do it all supposingly in the name of "immigrant rights". These people don't speak for me!
I plan on going shopping today even though I really wasn't planning on doing it. I urge you to do the same.

Now, that is too funny!

My wife and I have put off our bi-monthly grocery shopping until today, we have one son and two cats (they eat alot of tuna, the cats that is...). We are also stocking up on extra paper products and other household wares. We are buying live lobsters from the seafood deli for tonight's supper and are stocking up on t-bones to put in the freezer. As well, we are filling up both our vehicles with gas. We will do our best!

Going to Best Buy and get a video camera today.

And groceries that were normally a Saturday chore.

I have been waiting on buying a freezer for the garage and doing some grocery shopping (including diapers!) I might just go ahead and order the mini-blinds for my living room I need, too. My (legal) immigrant mom is going to spread her money across town today, also!

What happened with the permit issue -- was that just one area?

I'm going to KMart and getting me something with a Martha Stewart label on it?

Why? She broke the law and had to go to jail for it!

If we want to care about immigrants, we should speed up the approval process for dislocated Asians and Indians who speak English and have college degrees, let in all the Europeans who currently wait 15 years to get in, and take in white South African farmers as refugees.

I did not find it there but did go to the minutemen site and watched a video showing yards and yards of trash, clothes, back packs, empty bottles, leaflets telling how to get into America safely, etc. And the rape tree, women's underwear hanging on a tree, signifying that women were raped there.

I have already gone shopping today. The only merchant around here that even knew there was a boycott was the owner of the fruit/vegetable stand who said some of his 'stuff' from California will be delayed a day. I'm in Mobile and we don't have a lot of immigrants illegal or otherwise.

I agree completely. I have nothing whatsoever against Mexicans, but why should they get first crack at legalization simply because their country is close enough to sneak over our border?

Great list--I would add persecuted European Jews, especially those in France. A lot are emigrating to Israel now.

Great! Just what I needed, encouragement to shop!

Gettin' ready to go out there and do myself (and Free Republic) proud. Might just pick up that new notebook today. Definitely will go down to Wally World and have them put 4 brand new tires on the pickup. While they're doing that, I need an across the board upgrade to my barbeque stuff.

Whooopeee! Here I go . . .

And I was putting off buying new patio furniture but you know what, today seems to be the perfect time.
