"and if Rudy is elected president over a democRAT, there will be what noticeable difference?"
- Well, I suppose for starters he wouldn't steal the White House china.

"Rudy is the most self-serving politician extant today"
This is such an outrageous statement, that I stopped reading beyond this point.

Giuliani is more "likable" than Hillary, and he does look better in heels.
But those calves of his could use some lipo.

TIME-TESTED PHOTO-OPS DESTINED TO SINK YOUR CANDIDACY
"My smile is more presidential than Hillary's."
"Would you believe this was my idea?"
"Man, I love photo-ops that make me look commanding."

I've never been impressed by Rudy.
But, frankly, if he can convince conservatives that he's "wised up" and will sincerely represent their interests...
Obviously he has a very, very tough road.
Good to see him campaigning for Republican candidates- that may get him a cabinet post anyway.

"During his term as governor Virginia became a "shall issue" concealed carry state, meaning that the state has to issue you a concealed carry permit, unless you are specifically legally prohibited from posessing a weapon. No justification is required to any local authority either."
Our then Democrat Gov got this shoved down his throat too, and he hated it....So in all fairness, someone could say the same of him.
Please don't take this personally, but I have no idea who you are or why I should take what an unknown stranger tells me to the bank. I do appreciate your effort. It's just not enough to satisfy me at this point.

So in all fairness, someone could say the same of him. Well, they ~could~ say it. But they'd be wrong.

It's just not enough to satisfy me at this point. No offense taken, and a little bit of skepticism is healthy. However, I challenge you to do some objective research on the subject and find out for yourself. I can only relate to you what I know of first hand.

Granted, Giuliani's take on social issues leaves something to be desired, but ponder this: without national security -- the REAL kind, with full control of
both borders and no delusions about the tea-towels -- abortion and gun control could become moot points in a New York minute.
Put another way, domestic squabbles don't mean a damn thing when the guy in charge lets the other chaps turn your domus into a socialist workers' paradise... or a smoking hole in the ground.

Personally I think folks give Giuliani entirely too much credit for security. It took a lot more than one man to handle things after 9/11, and he didn't clean up NYC single handedly either.

You're welcome. I don't take things at face value either, and I have little regard for opinions that are not thought out.

Allen is very pro 2nd Amendment. How do you explain his long-time support for the "Assault Weapons Ban"?

I'm with you on this subject, and until a better candidate shows up Rudy looks pretty good to me. We need someone not only capable to communicate well, but someone who inspires confidence and effectiveness. Slick is the equivalent of a smooth operator, and that's one impression I don't get when talking about Rudy. He's straight shooter and, right or wrong one knows what he stands for.
To: governsleastgovernsbest
Serious question for Allen supporters: what is his appeal? he strikes me as a reasonably pleasant and articulate mainstream RepublicanYou've answered your own question.
