Bush's poll numbers are going back up.

(And the polling was never accurate in the first place.......but the comparison of one bad poll to a past one can reveal some level of accuracy).

Bush's poll numbers are going back up.

From 38 to 39?

"(And the polling was never accurate in the first place..."

Were they accurate after 9.11

Fox poll (done by libs) 33 last week 38 this week.

They're only valuable for their relative comparison.

I don't know if they were accurate after 9/11. It doesn't matter.

He has never done anything for poll numbers one way or the other. He does what he thinks is right. He did then, and he's doing so now.

"Try again on the heroes, Hero."

You're my Hero, hero. You worship Bush, must go back to that old world serf attitude that required allegiance to a lord. That is so pre-revolutionary, don't you think? Allegiance to a man rather than to conservative ideas - yup, that's the sort of gellatinous backbone that makes jello possible.

Bush the God King doesn't create problems, it's his stupid malcontent serfs who have failed to follow him over the cliff.

All Rudy has to do is...

Say he will appoint strict constitutionalists like Alito and Roberts to the bench.

Since 9/11 he has changed his mind on immigration and promise to build a fence.

We can all look forward to POTUS Rudy Guliani.

I will definitely vote for him in the primaries. Social issues are not big with me. I'm more worried about protecting this country and Rudy is the only one who has the balls to stand up to people from the outside. Never have I seen a Senator or a Governor do what Rudy did to Arafat who at the time was being coddled by the Clintons. Social issues will take care of themselves if we appoint the right judges and we have control of the House and Senate.

He's tough on banning guns also.

Easy now - I know where your sentiment comes from - but come on now - Rudy never "banned guns".

And he never will - he has no such power.

"Perhaps, we should require insurance for handguns. If liability insurance were required to purchase and own a handgun, you better believe that the insurance industry would promulgate a pretty rigorous licensing and purchasing process to control the risk.

As a private citizen, as a prosecutor, as a Mayoral candidate and as Mayor, I have advocated for more regulated and more uniform gun licensing regulations, similar to those for a drivers license.

But as it stands now, although some localities like New York City have relatively stringent rules for purchasing a gun, many other states require next to nothing, and without a uniform policy, we all lose.

In fact, a recently released study indicates that of 2,225 guns confiscated in New York City, more than 92 percent of the guns were originally purchased out of state--and more than 60 percent of them came from 5 states, Virginia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.

When looking at the FBI total index crimes list, which shows number of crimes on a per capita basis for cities with population more than 100,000, it is not a coincidence that 4 (t.b.v.) of the top 10 are in Florida, and 6 (t.b.v.) are in the South, where gun control laws are very lax.

- Rudy Giuliani

Giuliani is big government and has no respect for civil liberties. He will lose big if he runs in the Republican primaries.

Great. We will end up with "national healthcare".

That is totally unacceptable.

I am not a reasonable conservative (i.e. RINO), I am a principled conservative. And if setting people off is your goal, rather than anything constructive, shouldn't you be trolling over at DU?

"Okay, Gomer, "

Of course, you wouldn't be calling someone a 'Gomer' to their face, because that requires having a pair.

Yep....I'm libertarian/conservative and I think Rudy is the right man at the right time. Someone who will not be intimidated by the Ol boy network and the K streeters.
Who can actually articulate a conservative vision and have the guts to take on entitlements, tort reform, vouchers...you know all the things we should be doing now.

Up to now I thought Allen was the favorite but he is too Bush like and I don't think the country will buy that model again.

So right now I would say Rudy by a small margin is the favorite.

I want a real Republican. If the RINOs keep kicking sand in the face of their base, they will be setting the foundations for a third political party.

There was just a Republican primary for one of the senate seats in Ohio. DeWine a RINO beat a really good conservative, Pierce. DeWine got 74% of the vote, Pierce got 14%.

Very little support and few posts were seen here on FreeRepublic during the run-up to this election for Pierce. Yet, posts like yours were a dime a dozen.

What a joke and what a mess.

President Bush is lending Rudolph Giuliani some big-money muscle for his potential presidential bid.

From one RINOcrat to another. Whatever. The beat goes on.

Like I said, Rudy was the only MOFO to throw Arafat out of the Opera and out to the street.

Didn't he do something similar to Castro?

That is tremendous research - and I compliment your effort.

Now - my retort - that was then - this is now.

I maintain that this issue will be a non-issue and Rudy will moderate his position to fit the times.

I have never registered a vote based on gun control.

I never will. I have more confidence than to suspect an over thrown of basic constitutional rights. It won't happen.

No one needs a tank - right?
