But I think that's more because of the breakdown of the family and out of wedlock pregnancies (recall in the past if a woman got pregnant the couple got married- true no longer). Very few women would have fallen for socialism at the turn of the 19th century for instance. They had husbands and families that supported them. In the wake of this vacuum, however, women will turn to the government for assistance. It was government policies which fostered all the above, BTW.

The complicit abdication of men as traditional heads of the family also helped to produce the above. Regarding the development of creeping socialism, men are as culpable as women.

WOW, you are quite prophetic! I would never have thought of it or realized it myself, but I read a prediction by someone in the early nineties that such would be the case (we would be at war with Muslims) and wondered how it was going to happen. Now we all know.

Socialism is nothing but a means to political power for people with serious character flaws, people most of us think of simply as "scumbags", "liberals" and "Democrats".

Two of the most recent, and largest, socialist programs enacted by our government where done by a Republican controlled House, Senate, and Executive. "No Child Left Behind" and the Prescription Drug Give-away.

The Dims don't have a lock on the whole "socialism" thing in this country. It has corrupted both parties.

It is how Islam and the Left will take over Europe with only a minority. As the Muslim population in Europe continues to grow, they eventually will begin to form Islamic parties. Since most European nations operate as parlamentary political systems, these parties will be able to ally with Leftwing parties. Green parties will almost certainly form up behind the Muslim/Leftwing alliance. Even without a majority, this alliance will have enough poltical clout to form a government. After that, autonomous Islamic enclaves will be formed governed by sharia. Europe will be effectively dhimmified and will be out of the war on terror, and will, in fact, become itself a security threat to the USA and other nations. Much of this is outlined more fully here.
