This would fit with the guess that Goss is leaving partly because of difficulty getting along with Negroponte -- Hayden has been working with him well, it has been reported.

I don't think it will be that hard to get him through the nomination process. I heard several democrats say good things about him today. I'm sure the hearings will have some hard questions, but I bet most democrats vote to confirm, and pretty quickly.

I also am betting that Goss ends up running for Senate in Florida.

Re: Possible Goss Florida Senate run. That would account for the seemingly bad timing on this, leaving right after catching a major high level leaker in the act but as "dozens of further investigations" are ongoing.

Does he still have time to qualify for the primary?
