Republican Right Abandoning Bush
MSNBC ^ | May 5, 2006 | AP

WASHINGTON - Angry conservatives are driving the approval ratings of President Bush and the GOP-led Congress to dismal new lows, according to an AP-Ipsos poll that underscores why Republicans fear an Election Day massacre.

Six months out, the intensity of opposition to Bush and Congress has risen sharply, along with the percentage of Americans who believe the nation is on the wrong track.

The AP-Ipsos poll also suggests that Democratic voters are far more motivated than Republicans. Elections in the middle of a president’s term traditionally favor the party whose core supporters are the most energized.

Securing the borders is part of the WOT. I fear they are already here and setting up shop.

It's the Democrats version of Shock and Awe. They're acting shocked and now everybody else is saying awwww.

It is not all doom and gloom!!!!

If you want to give this country over to the Muslim's I can't do anything to stop you.

It is simple. The Dems take control, another attack, you do not have to worry about boarders, gas prices,RINO's. Only how to stay alive, so who cares how you vote?

He couldn't even fix the decades old train wrecks of illegal immigration, social security, medicare and education so now they're his fault.

Immigration, medicare and education are all larger problems now because of his actions. Is he not to be held accountable for them?

I hear the sentiment, but I for one will drag myself to a voting booth in November to vote GOP.

As for today, it's way too nice outside to spend it in front of a computer screen. Over and out.

I really don't know what that's supposed to mean. It's obvious that many Republicans are not happy with Republican politicians. We don't want pandering, we don't want hem hawing, we don't want doubletalk, we don't want more government, we don't want more spending, we don't want loose borders, we don't want deals to appease the Dems. We need someone with fortitude and a big pair.

"The way I think is that an elected official has to earn my vote. I refuse to vote for some who is not conservative. Voting for a rino because they are not as liberal as the rats is like thank someone for hitting you with their fist instead of a bat. I will only vote for conservatives."

Well said and spot-on!

" I'm right there with him on the WOT but he has been a disaster at home "

That used to be my mantra too, not now though.

He's prosecuted the foreign component of the war, but he's failed on the homefront........I know I know. No Attacks since 9-11, and I am amazed at that. But that does not make up for the fact that he not only allows, he incites an open almost completely unchecked border.

I knew he had a weak spot for mexico, I assumed that as he prosecuted the WoT, he would realise the risk and begin to create a true border, instead he's been obstinate and in fact become even more lax than I could have imagined for a peace time border, let alone a war time one.

Even with my concerns and dissappointment in him hes better than the alternative could have ever been, but that doesn't change the fact I'm still disappointed in this aspect of his leadership.

You right. I don't want any of those things that you mentioned, but you will have all of that and more if we do not go to the polls and vote for the "best" "Republican Conservative" available. It may be the lesser of the evils at this point. So be it.

What have they got to shout about.

They may take back the House and the Senate, but even they know it will be a disaster as Democrats bring the troops out of Iraq and Iraq turns into Civil war , with Iran and Turkey taking huge chunks of Iran, with Syria taking a big piece from the other side, and Iran continuing with their program of Nuclear weapons. Gas will have to be rationed and too expensive to buy because we dont allow looking for more, The envirowhacko's wont let us use coal and NIMBY 's dont want Windmills or Nuclear power. Our economy going to Mexico either in the form of jobs, or money sent there by those working here. Hillary will be turning over our military generals over to the hague for trial.

No: They havent got anything to shout about.
