Tancredo Rips Government’s Spying of Minutemen
tancredo.house.gov ^ | 05/09/2006 | Will Adams

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressmen Tom Tancredo (R-CO) decried a recently-disclosed U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) practice of tipping off the Mexican military to the location of Minutemen volunteers. According to a story in this morning’s Inland Daily Bulletin, CBP notifies the Mexican government of when and where the Minutemen are planning to monitor the border and if violence is used by the Minutemen against illegal aliens. There has not been one verified instance of Minutemen volunteers using violence against illegal aliens.

“The Mexican military doesn’t exactly have a ‘good government’ reputation. The Border Patrol has documented more than two hundred incursions into the U.S by the Mexican military, and Texas sheriffs even apprehended Mexican government vehicles that were used to ferry drug runners across the border. By tipping off Mexico’s military to the Minutemen’s location, the U.S. government is asking for trouble,” said Tancredo.

“Heavily-armed military officials stationed only yards from civilians are at least intimidating. I can only surmise that the Border Patrol bureaucrats’ spying is meant to have a chilling effect on the Minutemen’s recruitment of more volunteers,” said Tancredo.

“The Minutemen haven’t been accused of breaking the law. Quite the contrary—they have gone out of their way to aid law enforcement and ensure the safety of our border. The U.S. government has no grounds upon which to stifle the Minutemen’s constitutional right to organize,” Tancredo concluded. “I want to know the legal basis for CBP informing a foreign government of the activities of private citizens who are obeying the law.”

Lou Dobbs is a Bush hating Marxist tool. Be careful who you go to bed with. You're being used.

~LOL~ You notice in my post I said for all those who are interested -- you are not, so obviously you would not be on it.... when it comes to the borders Lou Dobbs has been straight as an arrow despite all the pressure... in the past few months I'm finding CNN not much more liberal than FOX.. especially now that the owner of FOX is supporting Hillary for President.

Should ping everyone on this subject to start watching Dobbs, maybe if his ratings soar and Britts falls FOX will get the message that Mort, Fred, etc.. are not reading our minds like they keep saying.

Ping.

Well, I just heard from management, here - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1629155/posts?page=855#855 . It appears that Jim R. has an opinion, and a strong one, on the topic.

Call it a hunch, but I doubt that a Lou Dobbs thread would get very far.

Jim, I don't watch the liberal portions of his show (those far left talk show people and such he has on) but his border reports have been pretty good (so far).. I have a really quick quick view button on my remote and I don't listen to that junk on FOX either -- aka Alan Colmes.

Please lou dobbs is nothing more than pure hyperbole, which you lap up.

He said wages were being depressed and someone posted a thread on FR about it and it was proved to be untrue and pure twisting of facts.

I urge everyone to read post #216 carefully, and realize that the Bush administration is knee-deep in this "one world government" scheme, which plans a borderless society that will rip the foundations of America to shreds.

The devil's deal has already been made. It's up to Americans to put a stop to it, if it's not already too late.

Received another RNC fund raising letter today.

--They don't seem to understand my repetitive comments "No $ until the border is enforced." It seems one Latino vote tomorrow is worth one current Republican vote today.

I really regret the 911 Commission thought we needed yet another layer of government called HLS.

Me too. Whatever 'The Plan' is, that is definitely a major part of it.

Attention: Those of you who are calling for revolution, secession, violence, impeachment, etc, will no longer be posting on FR. Sheesh, it's a phony report (pure Marxist propaganda), but it sure is exposing a lot of hothead idiot trolls.

Amen to that! One troll posts BS and 100 other trolls take up their scripted responses, just to make Freepers look bad. Classic Soviet style disinformation tactics. At least it appears to be so, the fact is many people are Stalin's 'usefull idiots' and they do not even have a clue, that they are so.

I don't think they are going to vote GOP. I do think the people who give the largest donations to the GOP like the cheap labor and, even if they are not using it directly, they benefit from the downward pressure on wages that comes with the package.

I think employers pay what it takes to get competent employees. There was a time, not long ago, that a visit to a fast food restaurant was a chore. The employees were incompetent, unreliable, often rude, rebelious toward managemnet, and many couldn't make change. They seemed to resent having to work. Those were good, young, bona fide Americans. Many were still students.

The same was true of most retail establishments. Rude, or indifferent, incompetent employees was the norm.

Then the immigrants started coming in. Most were here legally but not all. These were from all countries. Look at any 7-11. Although many at first had language problems they soon improved and we got better at understanding them. The big difference between the immigrants and the regular Americans was they were competent, reliable, and they appreciated the opportunity.

That is what turned the tide toward immigrants. Then in the last few years the flood gates opened and we have the situation we have today.

If immigrants underbid each other for jobs who is to complain. However, many immigrants are paid more than minimum because they are dependable and they work hard, something Americans had stopped doing. Not all are working for less than Americans will accept, they are paid more because they are worth more.

It is too easy to blame Bush, the Republicans, and employers but the real culprits are the Democrats (the Clinton Administration openly encouraged and abetted the flood, the Democrats in Congress are blocking anything from getting done, etc.), the labor unions who are losing members and want new recruits, the media who are leftists, and the socialists of all stripes who like the increased dependence on government. They like the out of control situation just as it is.

As usual, the media deflects the blame to the conservatives while they do all they can to exacerbate the problem. Too bad that many conservatives have become the useful idiots.

Not a chance. Here's the problem though. The parties are pretty evenly divided on a national level. Legalize these 11 to 30 million illegals and the Dems will find a way to get their votes. That will be the eternal end of conservatives at the Presidential ballot boxes. We simply will no longer have the numbers.

I totally agree. The only ones that want that are the Democrats and the media, or the left in general.

Forgive my ignorance but which particular part of the Constitution is Bush not upholding?

So you rather have businessmen makes $$$$ at the expense of American citizens. Growing up in California, I find "people" with attitudes like your sickening, and worse than those of liberals. At least with liberals, I know what to expect, but from "conservatives" like you, I expect better, but what so many get is a stab in the back. Employers need to obey the law, and I know frist hand growing up in California, they did not do that in the least.

Actually, there is an element here of the Stalinist purges and Stalinist fear tactics in threatening those that dare to speak the truth. But it's not the 90%+ of the posters on this thread...

Sort of like the media blaming the GOP Congress for making illegals felons in their version of the bill when it was the Democratic Congress that put it in there...

Only thing is when illegals are made legal and employers who have been paying them under the table have to start paying benefits a lot of them look for more illegals to take their place.

This is a real circular situation, which is why it's not getting any better. We have a lot of high-end boat manufacturers here locally -- boats selling in six figures -- and they used to pay a very good wage to their employees... then they discovered they could hire illegals under the table and it has spread throughout, now putting a lot of people out of good-paying jobs..

These illegals have also introduced Meth and other drugs into these facilities and throughout our town. There is a local realtor who brags openly about making her fortune selling houses to illegals and how she doesn't care because when things top out she will move somewhere else.

Our's is but one of many locations in Arizona that has private homes being used as drop houses for illegals, one person I know who lives not far from me lived next to one such house, the issues she had to deal with while the Police looked the other way was unconscionable, When we had Neighborhood Watch meeting and mentioned stuff like cars coming and going into the backyard of that house in the middle of the night the officer freely said it was a drop house -- it was raided two months later..
