"Had we kept the draft, we would be stuck today with a group of whining shirkers."

Had we kept the draft, we would NOT be stuck today with a group of whining shirkers.

Vets have more pride in American than non-veterans. Why? Because we put our lives, not our checkbooks on the line and we are NOT willing to lay down and surrender our nation to the Commies.

Seems to me that the biggest cowards are in Congress.

Worth repeating!

Yep. This would do the job and be quite portable, too.

It has.

I heartily concur. Bump.

assault weapon is one of the terms MSM uses to demonize a style of gun. its in the same class as "cop killer" bullets, "saturday night specials" "sniper rifles" etc. its a generic term used to sound similar to the assault rifle (assault rifle being a rifle or carbine with select fire) and is based solely on looks and/ or capacity of a gun rather than functionality.
so assault weapon can be anything from a tec9, to an AR, to a rem. 1100, to a 1911.

Hi RKV-

That firearm would be portable and do the job...and it would be ugly while it was doing it! ;-)

"Most men who I have seen that identify themselves with political liberalism strike me as being true physical cowards."

I agree. They have spent so much time being sensitive that they have forgotten how to be men.

This is an old article. It may have appeared here before....

Here is a very old quote, and may merit reading once a year.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." --Samuel Adams (1722-1803), August 1, 1776

Yep. This would do the job and be quite portable, too.

Precisely what I carried while working as a driver-courier transporting jewelry and pharmaceutical narcotics. Since one of my hands was occupied with driving, I needed a weapon for use should another vehicle pull alongside and try to sideswipe, or if the front seat passenger attempted to knock off our vehicle's driver- me! Accordingly, I needed something reasonably compact, with a largish magazine capacity, and controllable if used through the pistol port of my armored door. The M10 was just right for the job, usable for a magazine's worth until I could pull over and get to the more serious hardware.

Man, couriering narcotics and gems is a dangerous way to make a living. Glad to hear that you had the right tools for the job.

Altogether, then, there are thirteen states in which law-abiding citizens who wish to carry arms to defend themselves may do so.

The essay is out of date in this regard. I believe the number is somthing like 39 now.

The left's latest strategy is to take actions to make guns unaffordable to anyone of average means.

Huh? I see plenty of guns in good caliber (.380, .38, .357 Magnum, .357 SIG, 10mm, .40 S&W, 9mm, .45ACP, etc) available for low prices, especially from CDNN. I'm talking $250 and up. Anyone with a $25,000/year job can spend 1% of their yearly income to protect themselves.

However, they are going after the FFLs...making it more expensive to get and maintain a license.

That would be why it's out of date all right! That wasn't a criticism, just a statement of fact in the interest of public enlightenment.
