Now what I want to know is, why do we fall to pieces and eat our own when it comes to the issue of illegal immigration? Hmmmmm?

Because a bunch of posters here think it's no big deal that a foreign country is exporting is poorest and most vulnerable citizens to our Nation. Also because a whole bunch of party big wigs, including the President, think it's no big deal either. In fact most of them think we're a bunch of ignorant, racist, redneck rubes that's why.

While I largely agree with the rest of your fine post I must say it isn't the Dems who are dividing us on the issue of illegal immigration. That responsibility lies with the President and a large numbers of GOP Senators.

I know I for one did not appreciate him calling certain Freepers who've joined up to aid the Minutemen 'vigilantes'. I would think that might kind of tick you off as well, especially considering how hard you work to keep this place free of genuine racists

Real conservatives don't cut and run. They hold the ground they have and fight for more. Those who are advocating a loss for the GOP in 2006 are advocating a cut and run strategy. A guaranteed loser.

Real conservatives will fight on.

Good question. What part of "illegal" don't many Conservatives (and Republicans) understand?

"That responsibility lies with the President and a large numbers of GOP Senators."

Did you turn your back on Reagan when he gave illegals amnesty? If not, do you condemn him now?

Well, the real enemy is the same one we've always faced. I am 100% positive that the illegal immigration issue is a symptom of the larger problem and will be solved as "real" conservatives gain a solid majority and the liberal activist judiciary is replaced with constitutionally-minded judges. As states regain the power and we the people pass legislation (through our local reps) to deny handouts and to demand control of our borders, etc, and these laws do not get overruled by liberal activist judges, then we will see a difference. George Bush will not be in power forever. But his judges will be. His long-lasting legacy will be in the judiciary.

Wow Jim!! You don't say much very often (I suppose it's because you are Captaining this ship) but when you do, you hit the nail on the head. What a great thread, thank you. You speak my very thoughts.

Bravo, Jim!

Those who let their anger cause them to lose sight of who is the REAL enemy of the America is not much different than some ill-tempered brat throwing a tantrum...taking their balls and going home...forfeiting the game.

We HAVE to own the battle field (congress) to stay in the fight. Give it to the RATS and you can't do SH*T but sit around and pontificate.

BTW, Bush is NOT running again -- and -- Frist has promised, as of tonight, that controlling the borders WILL be the top focus....we shall see.

We recognize them when they throw up the big issues of abortionism, feminism, homsosexualism, environmentalism, redistributionism, and get up close and personal with their in your face perversions.

Besides immigration, and our government telling Mexico where the Minutemen are, I've had enough of the spineless and toothless Republicans looking the other way while the Degenerates have taken over the corporate world through "Diversity" and have been for years infiltrating the elementary schools.

The Republicans ain't squat, Jim, and they haven't been for years. America needs another Party.

And I've had enough of you mindless robots trying to name call and put guilt trips on those of us that are tired of being taken for granted.

Ooooooooh, Frist made a promise tonight? Well, big frickin' deal. He's a few years too late.

His long-lasting legacy will be in the judiciary.

That's a bit of a double edged sword. Remember Jim the same Bush who gave us Clarence Thomas also gave us Souter.

I know very well who the enemy is. I'm just beginning to have my doubts about a number of others around here. For some reason a lot of folks on this forum think it's wrong somehow to attempt in any way shape or form to hold our elected leaders feet to the fire.

Noone can voice the slightest criticism of anything the Pubbie majority is doing, or not doing as the case may be, without being called a DU troll. It's ridiculous.

States and Counties are beginning to do just what you advise wrt those who have entered our country illegally and for their trouble their being ripped as grandstanders or worse by more than one member of this forum.

Michelle Malkin has an article today documenting rather well the fact that there are certain members of this Administration who are covertly cooperating with the Mexican government to circumvent our borders and avoid both the BP and the Minutemen. The reward she gets for documenting this is being ripped up one side and down the other. Is that how you want people to behave to a nationally syndicated columnist who's been a pretty vocal supporter of this forum?

You're completely correct about the illegal invasion of our Nation being a symptom of a larger problem. But we can't fix the problem if we're afraid to name it or more afraid still to point out that that the leaders of our Party are doing the exact opposite of what a clear majority of not just Republican but Americans want them to do.

We've got a solid majority in both Houses of Congress for the first time in what, 75 years and these clowns are throwing it away. Some folks around here, including me, are pretty upset about that. If the Republicans lose the House, the Senate, the White House, or any combination thereof it won't be the fault of the conservative grass roots. It'll be the fault of the Party leadership, including the President, for not listening to us and responding to our quite reasonable demands.
