I don't necessarily like answering questions with questions; but, I've been here many times before. And you can't scape goat unions here.

Like hell I can't. It's not "scape goat[ing]", either. It's telling the truth about labor unions. They are corrupt from the floor up.

I'm done. Don't mean to hijack the thread.

The defeatists among us think that it is necessary to 'teach the GOP a lesson' by staying home or voting third party. With all of the dangers we are now facing, that type of attitude could be the final nail in our coffin.

We do need to 'send a message' to some of the RINOs among us, but laying down and accepting defeat overall is not the answer to how we do that.

We need to stand strong for W, because I believe he is standing strong for us. No one seems to consider all that he is having to face. The MSM is constantly barraging him, and us, with all of the things that he is doing wrong. We hear the war in Iraq is not working, but other, softer, voices say yes it is.

The enemy is at the gate. Are we going to stand strong, or let it in? 'We know who wants to let it in.

I'm not saying the Republican Party is the salvation to all our woes. But I'm not above using them to totally destroy the Democrats whom I see as the domestic enemy of our constitution. I swore an oath to defend that constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic and I intend to see it through. I realize though, that when the current enemy is defeated, it doesn't necessarily mean the war is won.

The Beast never dies.

And this is where I came in and where I bid a farewell for the evening. Goodnight all.

Unless a crop of thick-skinned, dedicated reformers gets elected, I don't see much hope for change. The system is rigged inside and out, and there are no incentives to change it.

The enemy I'm speaking of erodes away our constitution, our traditions, our society.

What "new America" is he speaking of?

What greater erosion of our "our traditions, our society" can there be than to divied our nation by language and culture.

Bush closed debate, in his mind, on this subject back in 2000. He has proven his desire by his lack of action on our borders, particularly the southern border.

The division of the republican party vis-a-vis illegal immigration started with Bush. He has done nothing in six years to close that divide. Instead he stubbornly chooses to ignore the vast majority of Americans who want their traditions and their society protected.

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

You can read the speech here.

Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:

In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. Perot came out of nowhere. And he was largely nobody with regard to public awareness. Reagan himself was a joke to many but could communicate effectively. Furthermore, he was the honest old grandad. Perot disagreed with him; but, communicated effectively and directly to the people. Perot came out of nowhere and got twice what you estimate now. And the climate is no different. It's ripe for a third party bid with a well spoken candidate. And both parties know it. They also know the conservative base is shopping.. thus the begging scare tactics over how a democrat might get elected instead..
If they're so worried, one would think they'd shape up rather than risk it. They don't care or they would rather than try to blame everyone but themselves in advance. I took psychology and logic. But one needs neither to see how transparent this is. To me, the GOP needs to put up or shut up. They won't and they'll lose. And many here will sit and whine about how it's someone's fault other than the party that they lost.

Boil it down and you have to face up to it. The party thinks it can get away with whatever it chooses to do and will resort to scare tactics to keep everyone on the reservation (thinking that will work) rather than doing what they know they should. Sounds pretty familiar.

I understand your point and would agree save that they're working twice as hard against us as they are for us. A Judiciary is great; but, once they've completely destroyed our sovereignty, the judiciary becomes pretty meaningless. It's like putting a bandaid on the big toe of the leg being amputated.

With that, I think I'm hitting it as well. Sleep well, sir.
Grace & peace.

I, for one, refuse to get drawn into another conservative VS conservative mud fight over this as I have in the past. Shiavo comes to mind.

Suffice it to say that I agree with the statement below ...

"While I largely agree with the rest of your fine post I must say it isn't (only) the Dems who are dividing us on the issue of illegal immigration. That responsibility lies with the President and a large numbers of GOP Senators."

... 100%.

This is no longer a drip, this war against America and Her once pround ideals has become a torrent!

'And if America had had it's way without all the monkey business, there Sr would have retired and Perot would have been President. '

19% represents America???? That 19% of malcontents gave us the toon. You can not change a party from the outside. The chances of a third party do not exist in our country. Electing dims/liberals will represent the end of our country. I want more for my grandchildren.

The radical Marxist/socialists are behind the illegals.

Also the Islamo-Fascists. I've noticed their signs (often in Arabic) at the Illegal Alien demonstrations.
