I guess I'm not doing a very good job of getting my point across. The point is, the Marxist Beast is still out there and you can bet he's loving every minute of this mutiny. I do not for a minute believe that the Democrats want the issue to go away or have the best interests of the country at heart. They're lapping it up as we tear our movement apart. I may have supported guest workers in the beginning, mainly because I know we need qualified farm workers here in the San Joaquin Valley (but not ten million of them), but now wish the president would dump the issue. It's a loser and I know a lot of Republican congresscritters would be mighty relieved to see it gone. That being said, whatever happens we cannot allow the Beast (the Marxist Democrats) to retake control of our country. We're too close to totally demolishing the liberal hold on power to hand it all back on a silver platter. Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, et al, must not be allowed to take the majority or it's back to wandering in the wilderness for us conservatives.

No, I think you expressed yourself very well. And I agree, in principle, with pretty much everything you are saying. I just don't think we have the time you suggest we do due specifically to the issue of "amnesty." We can't legalize all these intruders and expect to hold a majority. It is my opinion and may it be wrong. I don't think it is though.

They're lapping it up as we tear our movement apart.

I do disagree with that. Firstly I don't think the conservative movement is tearing itself apart. Again I could be wrong but I don't think it's that fragile. Secondly, if the Republican Party/conservative movement is in any trouble it is not due to friction amongst us rank and file members. That is nothing more than a symptom of the gross incompetence and deceit coming from our elected representatives. (And I'm talking about so-called conservative Republicans not Dems. They're exactly as you've described them and worse.)

Politically it might be nice if this issue just went away but it isn't going to. It has been fifty years in the making and has long been a bur under the saddle of many Americans. This is not, as some have suggested, a media-generated phenomena, some apparitional faddish fringish concern. It is also not just some emotionally based empty concern. This is a sovereignty threatening, economy threatening, neighborhood/family threatening, school/hospital/social services threatening/emergency services threatening substantial problem.

I'm not trying to argue or debate my strategy vs. your strategy. We're (conservatives) in a tight spot right now. Conservatism is definitely on the rise but this is a crucial time of decision and action. We can't afford an amnesty. Maybe that's a bit hyperbolic but I just don't think the Republic will survive it.

We can not demolish liberals simply by adopting their agenda.

I am throughly disgusted with Bush's pandering to the ILLEGAL immigration advocates.

My brother in-law told me for years that Bush would break to the left after the election. I spent a fair amount of energy arguing that Bush would break right.

I'm eating crow.

I don't think the GOP wants to truly demolish them. Their existence as a threat keeps us unified- that's the theory anyway.

They know that if the Dems are trule marginalized, there will immediately be a split among the GOP. Conservatives vs. moderates/libs. It's in the GOPs best interest to keep the Dems around, and relatively powerful.

I'm glad to see approval ratings so low. Maybe the threat of losing this fall will force their hand and drive them to the right.
