"...on Wednesday, Dean declared: "The Democratic Party platform from 2004 says that marriage is between a man and a woman...

... the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, which has returned a $5,000 contribution from the Democratic Party in a protest over Dean’s remarks."

Hmmm, dean speaks on Wednesday, Thursday the money is returned with press release no less

awful lucky the G&L tisk force are avid viewers of the Christian networks and caught dean in the act.

this stinks worse than a Massachusetts honeymoon suite

I'd bet this was arranged to pander to Christian viewers

This is irony at its finest-Dean lambasting the decadence of television and Hollywood while accepting boodles of cash from these same perpetrators of filth and mediocrity.

I love Dean. I expect to be fully entertained by Dean's raving rantings, and I'm seldom disappointed.

"One of the misconceptions about the Democratic Party is that we're godless and that we don't have any values."

Dean is correct. The 'Rat part is godless, doesn't have any values, AND lies about it!

My 87-year old mom thinks Clinton only admitted what he admitted to so that people would leave him alone. She still thinks he is innocent. My mom, at her advanced age, is also, losing her mind.

Typically I would be thinking that a person would be nuts to think this way, but I am giving your mother a pass. What the hell. 87 years old. I think she is finally old enough to think what she wants and everyone should respect that.

There is a concerted effort to draw conservatives their direction via misinformation.

You know, after all, they wanted to be the party of....what was it....pick up trucks with confederate flags on them or something like that?

Treacherous, all of them.

In an effort to drum up support in the Christian community before the 2006 midterm elections, Dean also stated on the show: "One of the misconceptions about the Democratic Party is that we're godless and that we don't have any values

"The truth is, we have an enormous amount in common with the Christian community, and particularly with the evangelical Christian community.

"One of the biggest things that Democrats worry about is the materialism of our country, what's on television that our kids are seeing, and the lack of spirituality. And that's something we have in common."

Funny.

But some will buy it.

Dean: We Oppose Gay Marriage, Too

He forgot to say, "We oppose it this week while we are making transparent, pandering appearances on Christian shows."

While he says he opposes it....it's hard to tell from this picture...

... the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, which has returned a $5,000 contribution from the Democratic Party in a protest over Dean’s remarks."

. Why do they need money from the Democratic Party? Why do they need money from anybody other than their own constituency? Gays, as a group, are among the wealthiest people in the country.

The little Oregon coastal town that we live in has been "anointed" by the Portland fishwrap (The Oregonian) as "gay-friendly". Our lady mayor (hetero, married w/3 kids), has been in the forefront of encouraging the gay community to settle here. Rationale = bring big bucks into the city.

Mr. Inspectorette and I figure: whatever - it's good for property values ;-)

I know, I know. But, this was back when she was in her mid-70s and actually thinking somewhat lucid. :) She has always saw republicans as bankers and big wigs. I told her I voted republican all the time and had never voted for a democrat. I told her that back in the 1980s. When she found out I voted for Reagan over Carter, you would have thought I was in the first wave of aircraft over Pearl.

Oh no! However, she was so inundated with democratic "teachings" throughout her life that she just probably began to believe the nonsense. I mean with only three channels growing up (and that was after getting TV) she was "programmed" like many others in her age group. However, I think she did pretty good at giving you her ideas and impressions that you took the opposite view which I think can be looked at in a positive light.

You took the words right out of my mouth. It's the Dems running Hollywood.

During the 2000 election Hugh Hefner offered to throw a Democratic fundraising dinner at the Playboy mansion. The Dems publicly turned it down, declaring, "Playboy magazine contradicts our values." Hugh Hefner then called Gore -- rightly so -- a hypocrite.

Unfortunately the Dems are between a rock and a hard place. They're trying to win back more conservative voters without alienating their core base.

Dean's strategy, apparently, is to simply lie to a Christian 700 Club audience and 'interviewer' whom he judges to be too stupid and uninformed to contradict him and correct the misrepresentation.

Bill Clinton did something like this in the '96 race against Dole, going to Christian stations and farcically claiming to hold views he never held. Dean/Clinton et al. figure that their own base of clever degenerates is sharp enough to know it's a strategy to seduce the easily mislead.
