We need energy independence now. I'm beginning to think this should be our nation's top priority.

Not from this article, but just as interesting:

She [Rice at her confirmation hearing] reserved some of her harshest language for President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, whose government she said had "not been constructive" because of his tough tactics against the press and the opposition.

"Is it possible for you to say something positive about the Chavez administration?" asked Chafee, apparently taken aback at the toughness of her words. When Rice said "it's pretty hard, Senator, to find something positive," Chafee said her attitude "seems disrespectful to the Venezuelan people" who had elected Chavez.

Then there is what Sen. Dodd said:

Dodd said Chavez had demonstrated he was Venezuela's legitimate, democratically elected president by winning a national referendum on his rule in August.

Also:

As Senator Christopher Dodd has noted, "To stand silent while the illegal ouster of a government is occurring is deeply troubling and will have profound implications for hemispheric democracy."

It wouldn't take long for his serfs to get real hungry without oil income...and the end would be not far off.

Stupid fat little pansy would soon be history and a generalissimo would be back in charge.

Chavez needs a serious wake-up, then go-to-sleep call. Send a division of Marines with air cover and he is toast. Do the same in Bolivia. Too many Marxists are gaining power and contaminating foreign affairs everywhere.

He got overthrown and the Jimmy Carter nuts put him back in.

Build those nuclear plants.
Shut down those borders; fewer illegals, less need for fuel.
Put the darned windfarms up and down the coast of Massachussetts
(and in other spots).
NOW!

"Visiting Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said in Rome on Thursday in case of a military attack against Iran, no country in the world would have access to crude oil."

Time for the late 60's to be resurrected. Democracy is democracy is legitimately offered. Election of insanity is an anomaly to be corrected.
