Depending on how you look at it, Tony Snow's first briefing as White House press secretary yesterday morning started either 18 minutes late or 12 minutes early.
Shortly before the start of his 9 a.m. "gaggle" -- the daily off-camera briefing -- the White House paged reporters to say the gaggle would instead start at 9:30. But to the dismay of reporters showing up at 9:30, Snow had begun the briefing, at 9:18.
Kelly O'Donnell of NBC News was steamed. "This was 9 a.m., then pushed back to 9:30, then I walk in at 9:20 and it's already well underway," she protested.

Not liking Tony Snow makes me obtuse?
OK, whatever you say.
My mother always said "If you can't say anything that's nice about someone, then don't say anything at all, is my advice"
Why do you feel it is necessary to run down Tony Snow and Rush Limbaugh? Who cares? Getting attention is not a major accomplishment.
This from a wench who has nothing better to do than sit around waiting for the news to be spoon fed to her.
What a big baby. Grow up.
Good advice. And particularly fitting in this case.
I dislike media people, which they are.
I run them down in direct response to others pshychophantically lionizing them.
Pretty simple, really.
You "run them down"? Sounds homicidal to me.
"This is like dealing with thirteen year olds while their parents are off on vacation."
You nailed it.
"Everyone hates a breaking ball at the head that breaks low and inside just as you flinch."
This thread is full of fun metaphors today. Although I liked Scott McClellan, I thought he was a bit timid and had that rabbit-in-the-headlights look. I'm looking forward to Tony cleaning their clocks on a regular basis. (There, that's two more for the metaphor pool).
"Dana Milbank is one of the most disgusting of the Clinton butt boys in MSM"
Oh, I think Geraldo had him beat by quite a stretch. Make that "retch".
Got me there. Kept expecting Geraldo to do an on camera Lewinsky to his false god.
But why do dislike them? Do they all have something in common that bothers you other than their jobs?
Mostly arrogance.
Well, they certainly can be arrogant sometimes. But so can attorneys, doctors, and the lady behind the Starbucks macchina. I don't know that I'd call Tony Snow particularly arrogant, as journalists go.
We can't stay home and they know it. No way am I handing the Congress back to the rats!
I am almost as afraid of the dems getting back in power, as I am of Al-Queda right now.
:-) Thank you, CaliGirlGodHelpMe!
Anyone who goes on the radio to expound on his opinions as if they
had more validity than anyone elses is by definition quite full of themselves.
I wish him well in his new post but I don't have to like him or respect him.
And I certainly retain the right to be irritated at anyone's gushing and fawning over his every utterance.
Sure, you have that right, it's just that we (meaning me and other posters) like to have such strong negative feelings explained; it's part of the discourse that makes being a Freeper so rewarding.
You certainly don't HAVE to explain yourself to us, but if you want to be understood, you do.
I thought I had.
