Yeah and you know this will be a govt. booondogle that is about worthless.
How much overbudget will it be?
How effective will it be?

But we had high tech cameras monitoring it and a small blimp. But no border agents or military.

Thank God! Now I will accept an increase to green cards and immigration by the 10s of millions! Not.

They are trying everything they can to sweeten the bitter pill of amnesty they are hell bent on us taking. Sort of like Jack Bauer:

You probably don't think that I can force this towel down your throat. But trust me, I can. All the way.

They'll force the Amnesty towel down our collective throats if they must, but they are seeing if we will take it willingly, with enough half-baked, half-hearted gestures.

How the heck did they come up with amount of 350 miles? Who was the idiot who thought that only 350 miles of fence will stop illegals from coming.

What about the other 1630 miles of the border. How are we going to protect that? I want a fence along the whole border.

Anyone wants to venture a guess on what type of fencing this will be? Chain link? Razor wire? Decorative? (HeeHee)

I wonder if Halliburton will be hired in a no-bid contract to construct it.

The 370 mi includes fence already constructed. so the final number of miles could be much less.

Don't worry, it's a Government project. It will be completed under budget and on time just like the Big Dig! /sarcasm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Dig
The Big Dig is the unofficial name of the Central Artery/Tunnel Project (CA/T), a massive undertaking to reroute the Central Artery (Interstate 93), the chief controlled-access highway through the heart of Boston, Massachusetts, into a 3.5 mile (5.6km) tunnel under the city, replacing a previous elevated roadway. The project also included the construction of the Ted Williams Tunnel (extending Interstate 90 to Logan International Airport) and the Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge over the Charles River.

The Big Dig is the single most expensive highway project in American history. Although the project was estimated at $2.5 billion in 1985, when the last major highway section opened in December 2003, over $14.6 billion had been spent in federal and state tax dollars in the over 20 years since the project's conception. However, according to a former state official, "they just picked $2.5 billion to get it rolling -- everyone knew that was a lie." [1] The project was replete with delays, arrests, escalating costs, leaks, poor execution and use of substandard materials. The Massachusetts Attorney General is demanding contractors refund taxpayers $108 million for "shoddy work."[2]

It's exactly half of what the House voted for in their bill, which tells me they are using the remaining half will get built if the House votes for amnesty.

There are already many other parts that are already walled or fenced such near San Diego.

What is the total including this 370 mile proposal ... I cannot answer.

I heard the House wants a 700 mile fence 12' high.

If it was up to me we'd have this:

Is this a separate bill or just added to the amnesty bill?

Three-hundred-seventy mile....... what about the other sixteen-hundred miles?

That's easy. They are going to do build it in 370 individual one-mile stretches separated by six miles. Problem solved.
