The first time a saw a C-5 take off, I had the same gut reaction. "No way that thing just took off going that slow." The size is truly staggering, and is very deceptive when seen near objects on the ground in regards to it's speed.

Some ittybitty wheels for such a big bird. But what do I know?
Does anyone know what the wing span is compared to say a 747?

Every once in a while they open the "head" containment tank and it lands as a huge chunk of ice. Boy they do it on this baby and they will be able to take out the Titanic.

Your list brings back memories...
Debriefed a First Luey, he complained that the turn slip indicator slip ball stayed center on banking.
I looked at him and his WSO (Weapons System Officer) and said... " really, this never happened before", he replied never before on this aircraft (F-4E)... I then said, "Congratulations on your first coordinated turn on an F-4, Sir"...

Well, with my experience with airliners... there isn't any "dumping" of the head containment tank..." Fuel may be dumped, but the LAVs aren't. They are dumped on ground manually...

That was a landing actually. They were demonstrating a completely autonomous flight computer. No pilot. It had some sort of glitch and thought the runway was about a quarter mile away. No one was on the aircraft.

No one was on the aircraftThe families of the three out of 136 passengers who died in that crash would beg to differ.
