Q: Are you kids unruly?
A: A bit, at times. We keep on them now not to scream like they are being murdered if some injustice happens.
There is more to this story: We have one of the largest back yards with a trapoline. A lot of kids, some as young as 6, are home alone until mom / dad get home. So... they all gravitated to our back yard. The day we got the note, there were 8 kids in the back yard. It did sound like a playground.
We don't have kids over anymore (except for the 6 year old boy who is rather quiet and well behaved). Our kids, if they scream, have to go to timeout in their rooms for 20 minutes.
We moved from a farm in Michigan where, if the kids were getting out of hand, we would just send outside. They would scream their bloody guts out, either in joy or grief, and it mattered not.
I doubt my neighbors like us. My kids are always screaming outside. Sometimes in fun, sometimes because they are bossing the other kids around, and sometimes because they are mad at each other.
I figure if it is before 8 pm then it is exceptable. After that, they need to be quiet.
