Q:
"Their money sits in the Social Security Administration waiting to be matched with an eligible beneficiary, and once those workers establish the eligibility, how in all fairness can we deny them the credit for their past contributions?" A: Denying wrongdoers the fruits of their criminality is eminently "fair".

This is unreal. Social Security Trust having problems and these jerks pass this. This is an impeachable offense to all those who voted for it. Specter, I will never vote for him again. IMO.

I am dead set against amnesty. I don't want a guest worker program for illegals without their returning home to apply for it, but I don't agree that anybody should have to pay into SS without being eligible for benefits.

The Social Security proposal, offered by Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., would have prevented illegals who become legal from collecting the benefit on wages they earned while working unlawfully. So not only are they not penalized for earning money under illegal status, there is no talk of stopping the anchor baby policy, cutting off welfare benefits, or ending subsidized health care for illegals. Not to mention jailtime for employers of illegal labor.
But lets build a 370 mile wall along a 1951 mile border.

"Their money sits in the Social Security Administration waiting to be matched with an eligible beneficiary, and once those workers establish the eligibility, how in all fairness can we deny them the credit for their past contributions?" can anyone actually believe, in all honesty, that our Government will enforce, ANY LAW in regards to illegal aliens?

How on earth will they match contributions to the illegals when they never had valid SS numbers in the first place. If someone randomly picked my SS# to work under does that mean they get all my benefits instead of me?

Countered Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass.: "Their money sits in the Social Security Administration waiting to be matched with an eligible beneficiary, and once those workers establish the eligibility, how in all fairness can we deny them the credit for their past contributions?" Kennedy is right, they should be able to collect the portion they paid in as they leave the country.

It's called, "asset forfeiture".
If it's good enough for American criminals, it's good enough for Mexican ones, too.

This is the real issue here, the implications are staggering and none are good.
I was being pretty open minded but NO
they all must go back and re apply and no counting being here illegally and using a fake SSN and never paying taxes.
In fact I would bet $100 that 90% of illegals that do file get money back. Anyone who makes less then $30,000 and has kids does not pay taxes at all but gets more then they pay in back as a refund.
sheeesh, the senate needs to be dissolved and hold all new electrons, wish we had a Parliament in this case. Join the minutemen, contribute to their fence, write your reps.

Q: "Their money sits in the Social Security Administration waiting to be matched with an eligible beneficiary, and once those workers establish the eligibility, how in all fairness can we deny them the credit for their past contributions?" Wrong! The money doesn't sit anywhere, it is payed by the taxpayers still working and no money is stock piled for future use because the government spends in on other things as fast as it comes in, plus it is a ponzi scheme.

I can see a very serious citizens revolt becoming possible.
Anyone have an idea about elections this NOVEMBER, do we stay party lines and elect someone with a spine and kick the incumbents out? At this point in time, it seems like the thing to do. Throw the spineless out!!!! We can send a very clear message.

Well that sort of blows up the advantages of having illegals pay taxes for services they never collect doesn't it. Another nonsensical benefit of hiring illegals bites the dust .. big time.
