Each year they bundle more and more codes. In the medical office the problem is CMS rules are very subjective and you have to consider if it's a new complaint, one or more stable problems or inadeqately controlled problems, how many body systems are reviewed, past history, time, etc.. and -- oh yes, a proper diagnosis and what procedures you can bill with an office visit and which one's you can't. I liken it to filling out the yearly tax return

Ya'll are welcome....Hunter went to great lengths to "ask" the Media to hold down the rhetoric and comparisons, because we are at war, we have troops out there fighting..and THEY don't deserve to be badly because of something we don't even know the facts of yet.
One of the reporters made the comment that Hunter seems to be "preparing us for the worst"...Hunter said NO, but he has seen what has already been all over TV in the last couple of days...and feels like he needed to get out in front of this, before it went further.
It's horrible. It was horrible when I helped program the first one and it's only good worse since since everything has to fit a "code". And yes, they do have bundling rules (I originally keyed it as bungling rules which is closer to the truth). And if the wrong one is checked, Katy bar the door to pain. My 75-year-old mother who is fighting Lupis, heart disease and a type of cancer had the wrong code and Medicare put the claim off for 6 months until it got unsorted by changing the code.
