'sides, the only president that hired folks (or at least Inter-Viewed) in the oral (sorry Oval) office was Bill Clinton, me thinks that the house passed extra border folks and the senate (thanks to Hillary etal) vetoed it, am I wrong?

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, a Democrat, has been more critical of the plan.

Didn't she call up the National Guard to protect the border a few months ago?

Takes awhile to turn a battleship, equally long to turn it again.

How will this work, exactly? National Guards will patrol the border. If a wetback makes a run for it what do they do? Tackle them? Shoot them in the leg? What is permitted?

Has Vincente been yelling and screaming yet?

The one-page "initial guidance" memo...

I wonder, though, why the deployment was announced before the details were in place.

I've heard the best strategy in handling the illegal immigrant problem is to allow all the Mexican immigrants into the country with the proviso they join the military. Then invade Mexico with the newly formed Mexican Brigade. Since we never formulate successful exit strategies, they'll remain in Mexico from then on out.

There's no pleasing them. They're just like the Libs. There is no success or compromise, just moving the goalpost.

Whiners.

I think that symbolically this is very good. It may be the beginning to the turn of the tide of illegal immigration, which needs to be reversed before it becomes truly destructive to our nation.

I am saddened that this issue has come to such a boiling point that such actions, posturing, words for consumption etc. are needed, but that is where we are.

More to you later on this topic and why I think that.

Regards

Wolf

Just a thought, but is it possible the administration, in concert with House and Senate Republicans, faded leftward on this issue knowing full well the Dems would go overboard trying to one-up them? We now have democrats on record as saying "English language is discrimination" and voting against the Official Language ammendment. Wouldn't that be a classic Rovian maneuver? Look what's happened, we've now, albeit gradually, begun proposing language standards, fence building, National Guard mobilization, etc...while the Dems are getting sillier and sillier with trying to appease the invasion forces

Seems farfetched that Repubs could be that well coordinated, disciplined and Machiavellian...but who knows

I was going to ask a similar question, but I wonder if it was the Pentagon. Someone surely picked up the phone, though, didn't they. I hope the media is all wire-tapped.
