This book and film do nothing of the sort.
What is amazing to me is that people do not realize this is simply the Pauline view of Christianity vs. Gnostic view of Christianity.
What further amazes me is how many people are so utterly insecure in their own faith as to let a book and a movie rattle them so.
Fear, greed, guilt, envy and ignorance. Great motivators.....
Absolutely none of the above. It is a desire to fight against misinformation that is presented as fact to millions and millions of people.
That is nonsense. It is precisely those who are "secure in their own faith" who oppose this book and film. They are trying to prevent the misleading of those who have a poor understanding of Christianity. They refuse to see this movie because they don't want to contribute to the accounts of those who are setting out to bring discord and corruption, not because they are afraid it might weaken their own faith. Too bad you can't say the same.
The Gnostics were a cult that threatened the Christian faith by calling into question Jesus divinity. Dan Brown has dredged up all the Gnostic lies and proclaims them truth. The ignorant will believe him.
FR was created to debunk liberal lies of all stripes.
It is a book and a movie that is being used to attack Christianity and has nothing to do with truth.
Bingo
But we wouldn't want folk to study the early Gnostics who were closer to the early - were - the early followers
They might learn something - like, for example, to remember that Jesus said that only thru' HIM could we reach the Father - not a line of pomp and circumstance potentates
These are among the tools used by the Paulines against the gnostics. Also among the tools were torture, murder and genocide. Back in the day, when someone would say they were agnostic they were really saying, 'I'm not one of them, don't kill me'. Gnostics rule their own temple, something the Paulines don't appreciate.
The Pauline rage thing is the only reaction to accompany their insecurity.
