Great comments. I totally agree. I know immigration is a hot topic right now, but if we throw the Republicans out, we're not going to get anything. The immigration laws will be worse, abortion will be worse. And can we say House Leader Pelosi? Or Majority Leader Harry Reid? Or Appropriations chairman that slick guy from NY, um, . Or the Judicial chairman in the House: John Conyers. How about Patrick Leahy as leader of the Judicial Committee, say good bye to any conservative judicial nominees coming out of that committee. (I'm not ranting at you.)
I do disagree with some of the things that President Bush has done. But you are exactly right, we have gotten a lot from him, and probably would have gotten a lot more if the Republicans in the House and Senate would grow a backbone. And yet as bad as the Republicans are, the Democrats are so much worse.

I've read it once and plan on a reread. :-)

Thanks for the ping.
The country's most loyal president, the most consistent, and the most honest about where he stands on the issues, is being betrayed at every turn.
He will go down in history as one of the country's greatest presidents.

Yes, yes, thanks a lot, Miss Cleo, your channelings of the FFs, are just soooooooooooo wonderful. Where do I send the money? /rabid sarcasmClever rebut, more than worthy of your trade.
Too bad facts, history, reason, and the grand eminence of Thomas J and Ronald Reagan spoil your little pep rally for Bush the Meager.

You should take your own criticism to heart. Those who belong to the CULT OF ONLY ONE BORDER, have crossed the line, here, daily, for months on end.
To: Howlin; M. Thatcher
Thank you both and God bless President Bush!!
Of course none of us agrees with everything the Boss has done, but I for one believe his heart is in the right place and he does his level best for us every day. He does what he believes is right, regardless of the slanted polls, the carping media, the traitors in our own government bureaucracy, and the vicious partisanship from the Democrat elected officials. He deserves and needs our support - if we disagree, we should ask him to reconsider his position, not scream like a bunch of spoiled brats.

I'm glad her sabbatical from politics was very short-lived.

Oh yes, yes, SAINT RONALAD REAGAN, the man who gave
BLANKET AMNESTY to all ILLEAGALS, no questions asked, the man who turned and ran, with America's tail tucked between all of legs, when he pulled the Marines out of Lebanon and did NOTHING else, when they were attacked, the man who, though he did lower the tax brackets, DID then raised taxes several times.
Thomas J? As in Jefferson? Thomas Jefferson, the spineless, who thought that the Louisiana Purchase was unconstitutional, was a penurious shopaholic and poseur, and wanted America to help the rabid MOB decapitate the French king, queen, their children, and wipe out the entire aristocracy and everyone who worked for them? That Thomas J? He, who also paid off ISLAMONAZI terrorists, after he said he never would? ;^)

go away No, YOU go away. Leave my country and take your sycophant-ic, monarchy-worshipping habits with thee!
I ascribe to the tenets and creeds of Thomas Jefferson and Ronald Reagan.
The fact that that upsets you discloses your utter disregard and ignorance of the American ideal.

Good thread. Thanks.
It's tiring to see President Bush being so wrongly underated. Would like to see more work like this.

I do not belong to the cult of the border. I am glad Dubya is our President, over all. I think he was correct in his handling of the war and I have defended him to all comers on that topic. I think he's a very decent guy and he means well. And God knows I am glad every single day we didn't end up with Gore or Kerry.
But I want more border protecting and less federal spending and I'm just not willing to fall so in love with the man that everything he does is golden, and neither should you. Conservatives are supposed to be the ones who think, not the ones who just go with the lump in their throat.

Reconciling those two wishes is going to be difficult.

Reading this article (for the 4th time) and the thread that follows it's like a breath of spring air and has given me renewed hope there will be a tomorrow.
Thankyou everyone.

Thanks for sending me this. It's so right it's a spirit raiser from someone who gets a little dispirited now and then. And then I think "What must he be going through?"...

That was a terrific commentary...just like the last one she wrote that was posted here.
Just to get to your post though, I had to run a gauntlet of slings and arrows.
BTW...good to see you.
