GWB isn't pushing for an open border...he's pushing for a closed border, but allowing anyone to come in. :-) Seriously, he's all for cutting down on illegal imigration, as long as we open up legal immigration. And I think you can go back to his time as governor to see that.

What bothers me most of all, though, is his disregard of the Constitution at the same time he claims to revere it. Check out Power Surge, for example.

With 20 million, you'd think there would be quite enough to provide a support network to learn English just like other immigrants have...without the coddling. (It's the few immigrants from other locales that could most use assistance, when they are in entirely foreign surroundings with no others like them.) Also, it's very well documented that bilingual provisions retard the learning of English.

My arguments are sound. BTW, it's more than spelling...it's capitalization and punctuation, too...all in one sentence. ;-) I don't normally call in the grammar police, but the topic is English. :-)

Check out usajobs.opm.gov the official US government website listing jobs in the Federal government including the Army War College, military bases, State department, Library of Congress, etc. It has a link for the Spanish language version. If you can't read English well enough even to understand how to apply for a government job, why should you be eligible or even considered for employment in the government? This is madness.

My great-grandparents came from Switzerland. They spoke German. I'm sure that they didn't insist that this country provide German translations for everything. They learned English as fast as they could.

Bush and his cronies are contributing to the Balkanization of this country. We are soon going to reap the whirlwind for this idiocy.
