Nope. I have seen a rare poster on FR that says Israel should deal with the Iranian problem on their own. I say, let the USA and Israel take it to the enemy first. Russia and China are in on this too, WWIII is just around the corner. What better allies to have then the God of Israel and all mankind?

We must stand by Israel.
I believe that a more concise statement is in order however. I think it should say that "in the event any nation attacks Israel with weapons of mass destruction the United States pledges to respond in kind with both certain and devastating consequences."

I find the statement rather vague vs 'the Us will consider an attack on Israel as an attack on the US. Come to aid? That can be interpreted many ways.

'In the event of any attack on Israel, the United States will come to Israel's aid'... Choice of words is interesting, as it would (purposefully ??) include a retaliatory attack after an Israeli preemptive strike.

Hasn't this been American policy for decades?
During the Yom Kippur war, President Nixon had a virtual air bridge of supplies running to Israel.
Now, the only effective way of effecting our policy is to enclose Israel under the American nuclear umbrella -- it would be unthinkable not to.
