Hayworth lost and he shouldn't have.

bump to the top-- I'm on a personal campaign to get FReepers to revisit the issue of "immigration enforcement is a losing issue" canard that we had to endure after the defeats in 06. I'm suggesting that some of these defeats were engineered by the Bush-controlled RNC for the purpose of advancing Bush's Amnesty Legacy. To be frank, I believe that not only have we been sold out as conservatives, but sold out as Republicans. Here's the strategy--field a pro-Amnesty primary contender to drain the Repub of funds, then refuse him any help from the RNC if he makes it to the general election. A Democrat is elected, and the president has a "Congress he can work with." We really, really need a conservative voice on the RNC.
