"This is my vote for President"

Roger that. Sen. Coburn wasn't even on my radar until about 8 months ago but he's come on strong. Impressive speaker and always on the correct side of an issue.

The U. S. of A. has two "problems." One is that for twenty or more years, illegal aliens have been more or less illegally entering the U. S., building up to 11 or 12 million in number. The other problem (really a consequence of the first) is that we have 11 or 12 million illegal aliens in this country taking advantage of our educational system and social services, and filling up our jails in a disproportionate manner (high percentage of illegal aliens compared to the general population).

As the USA did in 1986, the Senate wants to solve the problem that we have 11 or 12 million illegal aliens in this country by giving them amnesty. Then, as it was in 1986, we will have zero illegal aliens. They did that in 1986. They want to do it again in 2006. What is your complaint? The problem the Senate has is that the American people are not as stupid as they think we are. They again want to ignore the real problem, let the leak of illegals continue (maybe after a brief hiatus to placate those Americans that think maybe the USA should actually enforce its own laws). Senate Republicans, like Democrats always do, want to implement a failed policy.

IMHO we need a Bill that secures our borders, north and south, deals with employers of illegal aliens, and takes action to identify the illegal aliens already in this country. The more complex and thorny issue of how best to deal with those already here can be accomplished in due time, whether it takes days, weeks, or months to hammer out. Take the issue of amnesty out of the Bill.

If the federal government is not protecting a kangaroo rat, citizens can file suit against the government and demand that the government enforce the law and protect the rat.

If invaders are pouring into the country violating laws and not protecting Americans, citizens may not file suit to demand the federal government enforce the law to protect US citizens.

The federal government has priorities.

Stepping in as spokesman for the cowering Senate Republicans, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D.-Md.) “Today’s vote in the Senate sends should be a wake-up call for the right-wing of the Republican Party that its misguided views are out of step with the American people.”

I'm just about at the point where I'd be happy to dump the senate and take my chances on the ones that were left. I'm not even worried about another aclu scumbag on the court. THIS IS THE ISSUE. Everything else is a highway construction bill by comparison.

I dunno, but I've decided that if amnesty passes, I'm renouncing my citizenship.

You can always move to Canada. They recently elected a Conservative government that is actually acting, well, Conservative! There is a big increase in deporting illegals from Canada.

Actually, E.D. Hill stated that's what Jeff Sessions calls the Senate's bill.

I'm trying to get through by phone to Fox News Channel and cannot get a real live person... arggggh. I want a copy of that damned bill!

They just went over a few of the outrageous specifics again:

***Illegals will get to go to any university and pay "in state" tuition, while we citizens will have to pay the out of state tuition.

***Illegals will get to pick any three of the last five years of income in which to pay taxes on.

***There is no way to verify who has been here for 5 years and Homeland Security will have to take their word for it.

***Illegal workers will be paid a higher "prevailing" wage than our own citizens doing the same work

SENATOR RICHARD SHELBY JUST STATED THAT THESE ARE JUST A FEW OUTRAGEOUS THINGS IN THE SENATE BILL. ANYONE WHO VOTED FOR THIS BILL IS A TRAITOR TO THE UNITED STATES, PERIOD!

And to think WE pay these morons to make these idiotic decisions. Anyone who contributes to the Republican Party should reconsider and make contributions only to those politicians who are pro_American.

Four Republican senators who are frequently mentioned as potential presidential candidates in 2008—Majority Leader Bill Frist and Senators Sam Brownback, Chuck Hagel and John McCain—disregarded the concerns of the American people in favor of a bill praised by the Democratic Party and liberal lion Teddy Kennedy.

Remember The great Ronald's famous line. "I didn't leave the Democratic party, they left me." We looks like we may be saying the same thing about the GOP.

Lindsey Graham was on the Mike Gallagher Show defending his position on giving illegals "their" social security and even tax refunds. The Senate bill is garbage.

Let the Democrats win because it makes no difference to the outcome and just angers the real Republican base.

Foolish "throw the baby out with the bathwater" thinking. Voting them out in the primaries and inserting a responsive Republican is an appropriate action.

Shooting ourselves in the foot by enabling the Party of the Criminally Insane to come back into real power, is the height of irresponsibility.

No, continuing to gamble when you know the game is rigged is the height of irresponsibility...nevertheless, Vegas has grown huge off such suckers.
