Go tell Hastert your honest opinion. Oh, and when you find his email site on his congressional page...guess what...its geared so that anyone outside of his district is going to have a terrible pain in sending in a simple two-line email. You have to know the zips-plus-four of the 14th district....I wasted 30 minutes last night trying to get the right plus 4 combo. The guy ensures that as few people contact him as possible...so you have to mail in your attitude on the dimwit.
So let's go to the next issue. For ole Denny....if its not the FBI who investigates you for a federal crime...THEN WHO will? Denny wants to have some special committee shake your hand and be nice about any bad things you've done. Denny and all of the leadership don't want public issues thrown around. They don't want their special status or favors lessened. They want the bribes, special loans, and gifts to continue. They have no wish to fix corruption in congress or the senate. You basically are talking about every single member now being corrupt and sleeping in bed with special interests.
Ever wondered how a company can make $100 million in profit, and only pay $5 million in taxes? Ever wondered how you could establish a special trust fund which you and your relatives to use and hide capital without taxation? Ever wondered how you could get federal property given to you free of charge? Ever wondered how you could get congress to make special allowances for Nigeria to buy your products even if they were not the cheapest price possible? Its Denny....and his friends. They get golf buddies, campaign buddies, and foreign interests to visit to hand over cash.
Denny and his friends don't want anyone walking into the special situation they have made....upseting the cart....taking the $100 million that they receive each year in allowance, gifts, hotel stays, free boat trips, airline tickets, etc. Corruption...pure and simple.
And your choice? Will Rush stand up and talk about this? No. Its the way that DC works. The only thing you can do....is fire your representative this fall. Don't vote for the joker. Find some totally unknown character running in the election....and give him your vote. Dump the corruption...and do it every single election. Upset the cart and force the lobbyists to pump 3 or 4 times the current amount of money into DC bribes. Make it as expensive as possible.
