Is it true that the California Minutemen endorsed the independent candidate for Duke Cunningham's seat even though the Republican is against the Senate immigration bill?

I'm afraid I can't help you out with that. I don't know anything about it.

"Where are the wealthy conservatives? If this was a liberal cause Soros and his ilk would have donated millions. Aren't their wealthy consrvatives anymore? Are they too afraid of offending someone? I would think that a billionaire could go down in history by dropping $10 million or more in the cause of securing our border.
Are the wealthy all one-worlders?"

I don't really have an answer to your question, but I have had some thoughts on why so many of the wealthiest people in the world seemed to be extreme Leftists. I suspect the KGB has targeted them somehow, drawn them into their Web.

"The US government will tear it down."

I disagree. I believe the government is on the defensive at this time (vis-à-vis the American people). That is not to say they're going to do what we want them to do---but I don't think they will tear this fence down. Nor do I think George Bush will repeat his charge that the Minutemen are vigilantes. The Left (which in this case, unfortunately includes Bush, but I do not categorize him that way in general) is retrenching on the Illegal Immigration issue.

"Methinks a wall is needed instead of a fence."

In terms of what the government needs to do, this is absolutely correct. Check out a picture of what the Israelis call their "fence".

Say, I know where there's a really big shovel that these boys may want to borrow.

They endorsed Howard Kaloogian, a true conservative Republican.

"This isn't the only issue I care about, but it's the most important facing the country today. "

Energy, medicine, and illegal immigration...those issues are probably the most important just for the general well-being of everyone living here. Long-term, there's nothing I can think of other than illegal immigration...that could change the very fabric of America or at worst cause civil conflict.

someone needs to start a fund raising effort. Something that says you support the effort. Something visible.

I'd suggest putting out a website to sell:

*details would have to be worked on this one

(on a side note, the tag line could be: The Minutemen... doing jobs illegals don't want to do)

Sell them all for $10, with complete transparency on costs and monthly statements, and have 90% of the money go towards the efforts. I would also PROMOTE, INSURE and CONFIRM all items sold were made in the US. It'd be good if you could get advertisers involved as well.

We would also need to insure we have a number of people hired to coordinate volunteer labor and oversee normal operations. These people would be full-timers, potentially having 3 shifts of them. There is a ton of work that can be done with volunteers. It could even turn into a 'thing' where people come out on weekends or sign up for 'a tour of duty' building the fence. This would help reduce costs, drive up interest, and probably get more media coverage as Americans come from all over to help (especially some high school and college kids as summer work).

The goal is to get the fence up as fast as possible. This will require a massive number of people and will require a good amount of coordination. Is there someone managing these teams? Has anyone decided on what teams would do what? Who is controlling the schedule and watching over the resources, deliveries, personnel support and labor?

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

"Hot diggity dog! A fence, wooohoooooo, FINALLY some sense! Let's hope our government doesn't stop this process, God bless the minutemen!"

Did you think the Gov. was sending the National Guard just to help the Border control....look for the guard to intefere with the minute-men's efforts at fence building...

This will get ugly!

Ewww. You got me on that one. I'm pretty sure Dubai is locked out. Can't say the same for the Chicoms.

Excellent ideas, and I hope those in positions to create such items are already looking into it. Seems a bit overdue doesn't it??? A quick doodle:
