Agreed. I copied anita's list on Enron for future comments too. Great reminder that should be told over and over.

Russert reading LA Times about new proposed legislation:

14,000 Border Patrol Agents would be added over 5 years.

Companies that hire illegals would be fined $20,000 and repeat offenders would draw prison terms.

Illegals would have to pay fine of at least $3,250, continue working and learn English.

The bill declares English the national language.

Wallace just asked Frist if it's a "success" for the American people to have to ask Mexico if we can build a fence.

Frist ducks the question.

Sensenbrenner says the bill is too expensive and we have to close the border first.

The bill will result in huge document fraud he fears.

He would have a workable employer sanction program. The senate bill doesn't have verification of current illegal status so they can keep their job forever.

The House bill requires verification of the SS numbers.

Do you want to keep him LOL.

I suspect once he is out of office he is going to spend a great time in America on lecturing circuit.

Why can't you send 12M ILLEGAL aliens back home, Sen. Frist?

We freed 50M+ people in the Middle East, on the other side of the planet...

Sensenbrenner points out, correctly, that if we have an effective method of status verification, many illegals will return to their country of origin on their own becase they will not be employable.

Speaking of The Clinton Cabal allowing and encouraging corruption, how about Global Crossing the cash cow for Terry McAwful? It is still operating under GTC. Global Telecommunications Corp.

In one sentence Frist said "out of the shadows". If I hear that one more time, I think I'll spit.

If you're marching across American cities, you're not in the shadows.

Frist is completely ignoring all the BS amendments that was put in that Senate Bill

The temporary guest workers program is the least of our worries compared to all the freebie perks to the illegals

Great stuff here anita, bringing everyone back to reality! When the chips are down who do you want to depend on? Murtha types, or Tancredo, it's not too tough a call.

Sensenbrenner: Those illegals have about 3 million children. We can't deport US citizens and it's impractical to deport the illegals here.

The senate bill throws up their hands and gives up. It's unfair to people who are in line to become legal immigrant.

Mexicans have to wait 16 years to become legal.

The senate bill jumps illegals ahead by 10 years.

Hagel: Our bill is 730 pages long. The house bill is 250 pages long. We do enforce the border. 500 miles of vehicle traps, etc. Our bill goes further than the house bill in some sections. No one questions enforcement. What Ronald Reagan did was amnesty. What Carter did with those who left the country rather than serve the country is amnesty.

On the front page of the NYT this morning there is an article that half the 5,000 firefighters in the west are immigrants. (But are they illegal immigrants?)

Is Sensenbrenner on now? I'm watching Frist, and I'm getting a headache.

I sure wish you and anita, as well as so many others, would put together a Talking Points list that could be given to people who can't seem to remember the good things our side has done. Democrats seem to have mastered the sound-bite complaint and we need a sound-bite response to counter them more often.

Hagel: The CBO said that over the next 10 years the Senate bill would cost $54B but the revenues coming out of the bill would be $66B.

Someone should ask Frist to outline the enforcement provisions in the Senate's jewel of a bill.

Sensenbrenner is on MTP. So is Hagel, who is just babbling and not making any sense. He continues to say that this is not amnesty, which we all know it is.
