Worst was a trip to Vegas in '73 where the Motel we'd called ahead to sold our room out from under us before we got there and then had to stay in a flea bag where the sheets looked liked they were rented by the hour; we were awakeded in the wee hours of the morning from a very light and fitfull sleep, if you can call it that, by a fight in the next room and the sounds of gunfire outside. Needless to say, we came home rapidly.
