Well the theory of Pangea breaking up would have had the (now) Arctic in a tropical climate somewhere in the past.
My thoughts, too. It sounds like they are presuming the continents were then, where they are now.
In addition to plate tectonics, there's also the matter of the earth's precession. Every so often it tilts so that the Arctic faces more toward the sun, then away more. The changing tilts correspond to ice ages.
Not 55 million years ago, though.
It would be plausible if they got the samples from a rock bed on Greenland.... I mean, there isn't any land in the artic, it's a FLOATING icecap....
You are right - Continental Drift is the reason - not global warming. This is just another attempt by the liberals to stampede the ignorant masses.
I wish I could live another 50 million years so I could see how it all turns out.
