I know someone who knows Arnold in a real up-close, personal way, and he says that Arnold really is 'homophobic.' Meaning he is appalled and grossed-out by them from his weight lifting days.

That's hard to believe since he has vocally said he is not opposed to Gay marriage and has filled the Executive Suite with gays and lesbians.

Your posts have always been credible. I believe you.

Duh - and I didn't bring him up...Torie did, and she/he called him a jerk. All I said was that I knew him, and he wasn't.

There's your sign.

I'm sure Bill Simon is not a jerk. He was just incompetent.

It was a shame that Rudy used his star power to support Simon in the primary.

As I stated before, the problem was that he wasn't a "politician." Being one is necessary in this day and age. You have to have a sense of what to and not to do. Mr. Simon relied on other people to do their jobs when they said they could help him. They didn't. He didn't know when to make moves and hold back - use sound bites - or even read speeches that well. Whomever chose him obviously looked at his character, not his political/tv charisma. He is a very intelligent man at what he does, not at being a politician. I believe in my heart, he felt he could help California get back to having good values and doing the right thing.

During the campaign, I came up with his being very much like Clark Kent. I stand by that reference.

In any event...as you say...it's WAY over, and time to move onto the next baby step for CA, as we SORELY need to come to our senses on so many issues. We need to stop being such an "it's all about me" and "what have you done for me lately" oriented society. We need to get more true conservatives in positions of being able to help us get on track again.

That is just so funny. The kook legislature would have had a Simonite epiphany and slashed spending to accommodate the lowering of taxes. How could I have missed it!

Why don't you figure out how the legislative and budget process works, before you try to engage in debate on the process?

"I voted for Davis, against the jerk Simon."

Good Lord! What an admission/confession!!!

Of course I can understand you blurting that out here nowadays... with the recent and massive influx of muddled moderates and pseudo-conservatives to FR... That has probably emboldened you to "let it all out," right???

"I'm leaning toward the switchman/brakeman, as well."

That's for danged sure! He couldn't possibly "railroad" us any worse than either Schwartzenrenegger or Davis has done, or Angelides will do!!! Schwartzenrenegger has "switched" when he shoulda "braked" so we might as well get someone in there that REALLY knows how to do either one and NOT just on the big screen for big bucks!!!

Actually I admitted it at the time of the election. When it comes to my views, I don't self censor myself much. It just isn't my bag. I also said I would have voted for Obama over Keyes.

Into a head on collision and totally derailed the train!

I voted for Davis, against the jerk Simon.

Oh please, wise one, tell us what are your grounds for deeming Simon so dangerous that you would vote Democrat?

Oh please FareOpinion, tell us why conservatives should support "moderates" when they not only refuse to support conservative GOP nominees but vote against them?

You see, conservatives held their noses and voted for Wilson as long as he would save his own skin by supporting 187. You "moderates" didn't return the common courtesy. With 1.6 million registered Republicans failing to vote in 2002, Simon lost by 325,000 votes, and the GOP failed to give McClintock diddly when he ran for Controller losing by only 5,000 votes. Then when conservatives set up the recall with vocal opposition from "moderates" they highjacked the election with Arnold, telling us the bald faced lie that he would control spending.

That's why "moderates" have no support from me.

And you have every right to do that. However, since we have a "secret ballot," why don't you just keep your moderate to liberal voting tendencies to yourself, rather than flaunt them on what used to be the most notorious "conservative" website on the planet?

Is it because your only joy is to annoy "movement conservatives" and see if you can troll around with those comments till you upset someone just enough to get them to over-react and get banned?

Yep! I think that's the deal goin on here, not only with you, but with a few others as well!!!

I have made about 25,000 posts over seven years, and have amicable relations with most posters on this site with whom I interact, of every political hue. I have never hid my views about any issue or political figure, and I don't plan to start now. Cheers.

I just found Simon shallow, evasive and annoying. He lied about comments he made on gay marriage before a gay group in the Bay area. Such is life.

IOW when you log cabin types tried to pin him down he wouldn't be so impolite as to tell you he was against gay marriage.

He lied about comments he made on gay marriage before a gay group in the Bay area.

Details please. I want exact quotes.

Well here is a flap about a Log Cabin questionaire that Simon responded to and signed, which he denied signing. The Chonicle has a story about it here.He says somebody signed his name for him. Ya, sure. I can't find on google about what were allegedly his comments before a gay group in San Francisco. Maybe I imagined it.

In any event, Simon's days in politics are finished, and that is good. It is time to move on.

Well here is a flap about a Log Cabin questionaire that Simon responded to and signed, which he denied signing.

Did you SEE him sign it? I have it on good authority that Simon's consultant, Sal Russo, applied Simon's signature in order to cave to Gerry Parsky's extortionate conditions that Simon must sign it or he (Russo) would not get paid. Such a cash flow bind was a life and death matter for Russo's business.

The Chonicle has a story about it here.

With no more than an allegation that he in fact signed it.

Ya, sure. I can't find on google about what were allegedly his comments before a gay group in San Francisco. Maybe I imagined it.

Were you there?

No, I read about it in the papers. You are free to believe however whatever you wish. Maybe a handwriting expert should look at Simon's signature on the questionaire.
