Olivia's beau 'spotted alive in Mexico'

OLIVIA Newton-John's missing boyfriend Patrick McDermott is believed to be alive and living in Mexico.

A Daily Telegraph investigation in Mexico has found three separate witnesses who have seen McDermott on Mexico's remote Baja Peninsula as recently as 10 days ago.

McDermott is now suspected of faking his death on a fishing trip last year to escape mounting debts and possible jail time over thousands of dollars in unpaid child support.

The sightings come as a grand jury prepares to investigate the disappearance of McDermott, who was Newton-John's boyfriend for nine years.

Here's a semi-interesting link. It's to a blog called "Tabloid Baby" and is a story that was posted March 6, 2006, saying that several boat charter people and fishermen who were working the booths at an L.A. outdoor and fishing show told the blogger that Patrick is "alive and well" and had been spotted in Todos Santos.

The blogger called it "common knowledge" among those who visit Todos Santos and the Baja Sur.

The article also says that Olivia had found a new boyfriend already.

You're right - I hadn't thought of the name "Kim" in that way. That makes sense.

I went through 6-8 different photos of him I found online earlier today and he has 6-8 different looks - the man of 1000 faces.

Sometimes he looks like Charles Bronson without his mustache and in one he looks like The Joker, as played by Jack Nicholson, lol.

Send Paul Drake out to look for him. You know, whenever someone fakes his (invariably his, not her) own death in a Perry Mason episode, especially in Mexico, they were always really dead by the end of the second reel, and Perry's client (who came to see Perry about a zoning variance for a two car garage) winds up on trial for murder. So Olivia Newton John is looking good for this one.

Never fear! The tabloid TV shows are hot on his trail now. Where's Dog Chapman when you need him, lol?

I've missed the reports from the two shows earlier in the week who said they would be going to Cabo, but tonight, Entertainment Tonight did one. They were in Cabo San Lucas and went to the Baja Cantina, where they said Patrick had been sighted a few weeks ago, only to find out he had been there again on Memorial Day weekend at least twice.

He was spotted there May 26th when he went in sat down at a small table, where the reporter was sitting for emphasis, then McDermott ordered a Mexican beer - I think he said a Presidente, but that doesn't seem right - watched a basketball game on the TV for about 30 minutes, then got up and left, after talking with the bartender.

I got the impression he was alone at that visit. Then he came back on Friday, June 2nd, with a very pretty woman and watched a beauty or talent contest of some kind that was taking place there. The reporter talked to an older lady tourist-type who had seen him - she said the woman with him was a "European beauty" and its was quite obviously Patrick.

She said he had changed his appearance some, that his hair was longer and whiter (they showed her the pic of him where he already had the longest, grayest hair we've seen in his online pix - a portfolio pic), but he looked a little "different." She was asked if he was acting odd or anything and she said no, not nervous or anything like that, pretty friendly.

Reporter went also to chief of police who didn't know about Patrick (or seem to care too much), but now that he does, he said he will hear more, because it's such a small town and everybody knows everybody's business. He did say that he'd heard that Patrick had "altered" his appearance.

There will be another installment on ET tomorrow night - with some "amazing" info or some other hype term that was used.

'I'd be thrilled if Patrick is alive'

OLIVIA Newton-John says she hopes her missing boyfriend Patrick McDermott is alive and living in Mexico.

The singer said she would be "thrilled" if McDermott is found, almost a year after disappearing on an overnight fishing trip off the coast of Los Angeles.

It was revealed last week that six witnesses have seen McDermott on Mexico's Baja Peninsula in the past few months.

Newton-John said yesterday she would love her long-time boyfriend to be found.

"It's all very distressing and we just miss him and love him and we would be thrilled if it was true," she said.

Asked on Channel 9 how she would feel if her beau was found, Newton-John said "thrilled of course."

Newton-John who was yesterday awarded the Order of Australia said she wished McDermott had been there for her award.

"It's sad he wasn't here to enjoy this," she said.

McDermott had been presumed drowned after failing to return from the fishing trip on July 1.

US Coast Guard investigators are contacting witnesses uncovered who say they have seen McDermott alive.
